Republican Legislators are being warned to increase their security

measures if they vote to end the ACA and provide no substitute that helps people obtain the healthcare they need. These warnings are making many Republicans fearful:

The warnings may well be worth listening to.

Republicans responsible for shutting down healthcare for millions of people are likely to create enemies. Families who lose a family member due to lack of healthcare are very likely to be angry at those who took that healthcare away. People who have been told they have a terminal disease that cannot be treated due to lack of healthcare are also likely to become angry at those who have condemned them to an unnecessarily early death. That kind of anger is a dangerous thing. People who have lost loved ones due to the actions of others, and people who cannot obtain the healthcare that would save their lives sometimes do things they wouldn't ordinarily do. Actions often have consequences, even irrational consequences.

That increases risks for those responsible. So, those legislators may be well-advised to increase their personal security, especially in public. It's a shame that's true, of course. But safety first, Republicans. Safety first.
