Why The Words She Persisted Are Going To Haunt Mitch McConnell

Our current Republican Senators are so drunk with power that they thought it was a good idea to rebuke Elizabeth Warren for quoting Coretta Scott King.

How distorted is their vision now that they believe they can appoint people with racist backgrounds to the highest levels of government without reprisal? That they can vote to silence the voice of a Civil Rights icon like Warren and that the people would just let that slide? That Warren and that we would just cower away quietly while they make racism great again in America?

Well, that’s clearly not going to happen
. By voting to formally rebuke Warren with the obscure Rule 19, they have enraged millions of people who are now clear that Senate Republicans are the ones who need to be rebuked – at the very least. The People are loudly questioning the motives and conduct of our Republican Senators today, and we will not be silent. In fact, McConnell’s own words are being used to illustrate that exact thing.Mitch McConnell Receives Rebuke From Coretta Scott King And We The People

Coretta Scott King’s words will be amplified today because of what they did. Republicans were conceited enough to quiet Warren while allowing two of her male colleagues to read Coretta’s letter, adding more fuel to the epic backlash.

For all the women they tried to silence

You rebuked Coretta King. You rebuked Elizabeth Warren. You rebuked all women.

They listen to RW media everyday. It fires them up and radicalizes them. It probably didn't start with the media for most of them, it was a learned behavior from their dad's and reinforced with their friends. But Fox News, Glenn Beck, Rush, Savage and all of the rest constantly disrespect women!

It's an indication that they view racism as a winning issue. Not only is
Elizabeth Warren now associated with it, but so are all Senate Democrats
with video of those reading the letter.

It could be a "my African American" strategy, or ghettos of crime, who knows.

Don't blame me, just saying they're up to something. The GOP is always up to something.

I have seen this scenario before, the evildoers get their way, even when people disagree, when hopes are still alive, when opposition fights but being the minority very little they can do (Devos, Session, etc.) and the regime just moves ahead with their agenda, ignoring the people, the constitution, the laws, democracy...people still believe the system they are used to will help them combat the grey clouds that everyone can see coming but no one believes they will pass over their heads, but the clouds keep coming and suddenly, the regime has won, it has control of the military, the courts (which it did today), they change the constitution and nobody does anything about it. The greedy ones sing the song of the regime because the regime is smart and is going to let them continue filling up their coffers until the time comes when they take that too. The regime creates chaos and confusion, they build a militia that happily "defends the cause", people and the opposition are having to fight little fights and pointing their efforts in the wrong places because behind the scene the regime is moving ahead with their agenda while they keep the public and the opposition distracted with petty things. One day everyone wonders and asks "It could not happen here", but it did.

Sorry, but I HAVE seen this before, the formula never changes, and it works. And when those who supported, not only Trump but the repubs realize what they did it will be too late, and some of them will continue thinking they did the right thing.

When Trump said he could shoot someone on 5th ave and would not loose votes he also meant that no one would do anything to imprison him either. Ask yourselves, has anyone done anything significant, so far, to stop the madness? how many rules has Trump and the repubs broken since January 20 and no one dares do anything?

I pray that I am 100% wrong, but from having seen this before, I am seeing a re-run, but in English.

Women who persisted. Women, like Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton who continue to persist. Women like those who marched, all over the country, in numbers that even the media had to pay attention to, persisted.

And WE WILL PERSIST. This is what they fear.

Thanks for that gallery of heros, sheshe

Some Wise Advice Circulating:
1. Use his name sparingly so as not to detract from the issues. I believe that everyone, regardless of their beliefs, deserves the dignity of being called by their name. However, this is a strategic tactic. While we are so focused on him we are prone to neglect the questionable policies that threaten freedom, justice and fairness advanced by the administration.
2. Remember this is a regime and he's not acting alone;
3. Do not argue with those who support him and his policies--it doesn't work;
4. Focus on his policies, not his appearance and mental state;
5. Keep your message positive; those who oppose peace and justice want the country to be angry and fearful because this is the soil from which their darkest policies will grow;
6. No more helpless/hopeless talk;
7. Support artists and the arts;
8. Be careful not to spread fake news. Check it;
9. Take care of yourselves; and
10. Resist!
Keep demonstrations peaceful. In the words of John Lennon, "When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system’s game. The establishment will irritate you - pull your beard, flick your face - to make you fight! Because once they’ve got you violent, then they know how to handle you. The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor."
When you post or talk about him, don't assign his actions to him, assign them to "The Republican Administration," or "The Republicans." This will have several effects: the Republican legislators will either have to take responsibility for their association with him or stand up for what some of them don't like; he will not get the focus of attention he craves; Republican representatives will become very concerned about their re-elections.
