Who was that lady?
How was she able to be there at the 'debate' with her 'question'?
"ACA keeps me from expanding because if I go over 50 employees I'm forced to pay for insurance."
Legitimate?
As a side note, when tedcrud brought up anecdotal failure cases of socialized medicine, Bernie's response should have been,
"Remember the 'Welfare Queen' ted? You're taking one thread that's out of place in the cloth and calling the whole garment defective."
Or maybe he could have spoken of the disparity between ted's insurance coverage and Joe Average's.

(38,958 posts)A to CNN for making it all come together. While I disagree with Ted Cruz on most everything, I believe that a debate just as we saw (although far from perfect) on just the one issue is an ideal concept and airs ideas for the public to hear. Perhaps Cruz and Sanders can work together on the issues of Big Pharma and to address the administrative issues discussed. It they can find common ground on these points perhaps there is hope of further cooperation. The ACA is a flawed system, we all know that and it needs to be fixed, not just repealed which will screw over countless people, but at some point these folks need to work together to get something accomplished. I think this debate was perhaps a small start in that becoming a reality. At least I hope so.

(15,220 posts)Come on down to Texas. If that sonofabitch's lips are moving, he is lying. Cruz only does what benefits Cruz, and he has no interest in helping common people.

(38,958 posts)but, there was a debate on an issue and there was some common ground. Jeepers, somehow, somewhere, there needs to be something that can be agreed upon.

(25,332 posts)She won''t open more salons. Refuses to get health insurance for herself.
Her story sounds fishy. How can she not afford health insurance? Does she or her family ever get sick? Did she or family member ever have a minor medical emergency such as a broken bone? An MRI costs $2,000.

(14,531 posts)cost a little over $3,000 five years ago. I can't imagine what a broken arm or leg would cost. Cast; Ortho and surgery depending on the break.

(50,271 posts)independent contractors who pay a percentage to the salon owner. In that case, the stylist would buy his or her own insurance anyway.

(27,120 posts)And, the ones I know personally, now all completely depend on Obamacare in order to get health insurance.
These people are disgusting. (The ones trying to kill Obamacare).

(25,332 posts)This is a "cheap cuts" chain. The "stylists" at these chains often can't attract their own clients and they often botch hair. My hair has been the victim too many times!

(14,531 posts)She's doing it wrong. My ex hair dresser rented her booths out IE: subcontractors. Pretty common practice.

(15,220 posts)I find it absurd that an owner of five (I believe the OP is incorrect in mentioning seven because I heard her say five - apologies if I am wrong on the number) salons does not ALREADY provide insurance for her employees. How was she able to buy that many salons if she's not already doing very well herself?
I know that I couldn't go out and buy even one.

(2,573 posts)should of hit home with this woman. Cruz's access for all should of fell flat.
