Its becoming increasingly clear, Rupert Murdoch was very much in the background of installing Trump in the WH. With Ivanka overseeing his daughters trusts and other ties, it looks like a coup did in fact happen. We are only now starting to see this. Murdoch is bad news.

he chairman of News Corp did not feature in photographs of the encounter last month at the top of Trump Tower in Manhattan but two people have confirmed he was in the room. The interview was conducted by Michael Gove, a former British cabinet minister and proponent of the UK’s exit from the EU.

Mr Murdoch’s presence is a sign of the mogul’s interest in Mr Trump and his close relationship with the new president and his family.

The FT revealed this week that the president’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, was until recently a trustee of Grace and Chloe, Mr Murdoch’s two young daughters by his ex-wife Wendi Deng.

Ms Trump represented the girls’ interests in 21st Century Fox and News Corp, the two companies that are controlled by the Murdoch family. Ms Trump is married to Jared Kushner, a key White House adviser — and a confidant of Mr Murdoch. A spokesperson told the FT that Ms Trump stepped down from the trustee board on December 28 last year.

Mr Trump and Mr Murdoch are in regular contact while Mr Murdoch, who has been running Fox News Channel since Roger Ailes was pushed out last summer, has positioned the network squarely behind the new president. When Megyn Kelly, a star Fox News presenter, left the network for NBC last month, Mr Murdoch personally selected her replacement, the Trump-supporting presenter Tucker Carlson.

Mr Carlson’s appointment means that the three key prime hours on Fox News are hosted by pro-Trump commentators.

In the interview Mr Trump riled America’s European allies by describing Nato as “obsolete” and the EU as a “vehicle for Germany”. It was unclear whether Mr Murdoch played a role in securing the interview.

oligarchs cause it has become such a buzzword used by some. However, with Russia meddling in so much of our Western democracies it can no longer be avoided.

3. COUP (noun): "a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government."

Please stop throwing this word around so flippantly. This was not violent and it was not illegal. Within the political system we've had for over 200 years (which makes it legal), Trump convinced enough voters in enough States to make an irresponsible choice.

4. Unlikely that it was violent but we don't know about the legality-Information being withheld.

I do think something happened that is beyond Trump convincing enough voters in enough states.

I don't use the term coup because it does not seem to fit, but if one uses the definition of a sudden blow or stroke against the state by a small group, it may fit. Still "coup" conjures up images of a military group seizing control, deposing a government leader, taking control of the press.

We do not have the facts to determine legality. Supposedly there are investigations but information is being deliberately withheld from the people.

b. do not have an adequate name for what has happened

which makes it difficult to understand, discuss, and reach conclusions about legality.

What we have been lacking since 2000 is the vocabulary and the world view to understand what is occurring in our election process,
