2. That's a good point. In previous years I have let them know by PM because:

(because: ) this represents something very sincere, a thinking back over the past year's kindness from those DUers.
And the anonymity doesn't fulfill the connection, the appreciation, the gratitude.

The problem is that contacting them makes it look like fishing for reciprocity, which it absolutely isn't. I'm in the process of spreading my love, but just a hint, somebody in this thread is one of the sweet ones.

5. I usually search for individuals who have yet to have a heart

perhaps low post counts, perhaps not even a star.

Thus I often go away from the big forums - there are so many listed on the side - to find someone.

6. Giving out hearts is fun! Never considered telling the recipient though. I will confess that I gave

a heart each to 2 people who are flagged because I miss their voices. And I see I am not the only one

7. A solution to telling them without the appearance of "fishing"

is to wait until after the holiday closes down to tell them. Then they can't do a thing about it except be their sweet selves for another year.
