Note To Joe Manchin ("D") West Virginia: STOP KISSING TRUMP'S ASS! Even YOU'LL Regret It Someday.

Alright, I get that you're a Democratic Senator in a traditional Red State. I get it.

I get that you have to make cheesy political adds showing you firing your stupid bolt-action deer rifle at carbon tax bills. As long as it's a bolt-action hunting rifle, instead of a f-cking BUSHMASTER semi-automatic assault rifle I can live with that. It's embarrassing, but I can live with it if you can.

I get that you might have to abstain from the filibuster of Trumps SCOTUS pick, because you're from a traditionally pro-life State. I can live with that as long as there are at least 41 Democrats who'll filibuster. Fine.

But...

A. STOP KISSING TRUMP'S ASS just because he won West Virginia. The fact that TRUMP WON West Virginia in 2016 is IRRELEVANT. By 2018 I guarantee that Trump will be so unpopular that all of those smiling photo-ops that you had with him are going to be like a led ball around your neck! Everybody, INCLUDING half the REPUBLICANS will be RUNNING AGAINST Trump in 2018. If you can't see that, you're even dumber than I think you are.

And...

B. If you thought that voting for Jeff KKK Sessions will help you get re-elected in West Virginia, you're DEFINITELY an idiot. The only reason that Democrats ever win in Red States is because they have solid support from African Americans in those states. I think you just threw most of your African American support away.

As a result of this, I'm not sure you can win as a Democrat next time. So, I think the Democratic Party should start looking for somebody to replace him right now.

we no longer have straight-ticket voting here. I suspect that a number of West Virginians who have voted for Manchin in the past have only done so because the Republicans were worse.

in the current political climate. As far as voting for Sessions killing his chances...he did appoint himself to Robert Byrd's seat. You know, the long-time Dem Senator that actually was KKK in his younger years. If WV Dems and electorate were able to forgive that, I expect they can forgive a vote for Sessions by Manchin. None of us on DU like that he is a conserva-dem.... but I think that is all we get in WV and Manchin might be the only one to have the institutional power to ward off a Republican. 2018 is going to be hard with so many D's defending their seats. Even with Manchin being to the right, if he can keep his seat, it increases our chances of taking majority control of the Senate.
