Poll numbers are beginning to stink, nobody likes him or his family and he doesn't seem to be a happy camper. Considering his temperament I won't be surprised if he bails.

When the Supreme Court swats him down, I predict that will unleash his inner dictator and he will order hits on Americans who piss himm off. I truly think we are on the cusp of a reign of terror.

(901 posts)For Scrotus admitting he made an error or had a lapse in judgment is a sign of weakness, which he cannot tolerate. Instead, he tries to bully or crush his "opponent," which in this case is the Constitution and our judges. He's never learned that owning up to mistakes takes actually a very strong person.

Imagine sitting there, watching Here Comes Honey Boo Boo with your bucket of KFC, when the red bar flashes on the top of your screen, with the familiar *beep* *beep* *beep*. Oh crap, you think. Tornado? Flood? Nuclear war? Alien invasion?
Nope. "EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT" it reads. "IVANKA TRUMP JEWELRY NOW 10% OFF AT WALMART! VERY, VERY GOOD!"

(15,805 posts)At some point he's going to get tired of the constant pressure, restrictions, and demands on his time to make complex decisions that he can't dump off in some flunky and go partying. This thing with all his business entanglements, and his families ties to the Trump brand is getting hotter every day, and he is not going to sell off everything to comply. Then there's the little matter of his suspicious dealings with Russia that is not going away.
He has no reason to stay in the Oval Office, he never really wanted the job anyway. I suspect he would have been happy with a big ass trophy with "winner" engraved on it. So when he realized the job of being the president doesn't translate in mean "king", maybe he'll get tired, or bored, flustered, or mad enough to throw in the towel.

(525 posts)I think once Trump realizes that he can not Rule By Decree with unlawful Executive Orders, it will be the beginning of the End for him. Trump has little grasp of what a Democracy is, and if the Courts manage to block his Executive Orders, he will then realize that he is not going to be able to Rule just by using a Pen. I don't think that Trump has the intelligence to even work with a Republican Congress, and the Democrats there will continue to fight.
Democrats in Congress must tirelessly oppose Trump and his Regime. Thank God for the Courts, though. I seriously think that we would be well on our way to a Dictatorship if Trump could get away with his Unconstitutional Executive Orders. If Trump can not rule by decree, he will have to work with Congress and go through the democratic process.
Trump is impatient, stupid, and thin-skinned. He also has no strong idea about how the Government works and has a poor temperament for working with others. He thinks he is the CEO of America, but a Republic is not a Corporation. I think that these factors will frustrate him, and he will either quit or make some horrendous blunder, and will be OUT. My money is on him making some horrendous blunder. He is already on the verge of violating the Constitution over Ivanka's clothing line, and that is the tip of this iceberg.
So, yes, Trump may be out in 100 Days or less.
Kablooie
(18,632 posts)It's beginning to look that way.
I think they thought it would be a breeze to push everything they wanted through without a problem but it looks like Trump is gumming up the works.
That's really the only thing that will make them impeach him.
They don't care a whit about the law, the Constitution or people's lives.
Nothing but making the government a hollow shell interests them.

(5,810 posts)Picking up speed every day. At this rate, we can expect investigations and hearings by March. Honestly, I knew things would be bad, but I expected them to hold it between the ditches for a while. Apparently, it is the blind leading the blind and 45 is not willing to let anyone with knowledge of how things are done in the White House advise them or offer guidance.
So they are stumbling from one blunder to the next, all the while trying to give the impression that everything is cool. We see what you did there, Sean, Kellyanne, Bannon and tRump. We're not fooled. Things are a mess and .....and you have on no clothes, Numb nuts.

(86,579 posts)in the trucking business when an incompetent driver (or company notorious for lots of mishaps - everybody knew about them) would be passing you there would often be CB radio comments about the truck/driver was "'bout to have a runaway" so watch out. Kind of the same thing, train sounds better in this case. I've fallen off the pavement before, if it's not a bad wreck you can often make your way back onto the pavement with little or no harm to equipment or personnel... and I have been in the driver's seat of a train too, there's no place to jump or run, if you leave the track, it's game over.
Dumbasses are so jacked up on pride and privilege that they would rather have a train wreck than actually consider someone other than themselves, even when the whole planet is at stake.

zentrum
(9,865 posts)...further and yes, his approval ratings are below 50%:
The Morning Consult/Politico poll showed 47 percent of voters said they approve of Trump's performance, a drop of 2 percentage points in the same poll the previous week. His disapproval rating increased from 41 percent to 46 percent.
So yay for that.
But a majority approve of his immigration plan. This is really ugly. The civil war in this country seems to never end.
Me.
(35,454 posts)And his best number was on impeachment, 49 against/47% for.
Now if you separated it out 51% of his followers still support him, meaning half of his people....but nationally he's underwater every which way. And keep in ming that half his supporters means about half of 35%.
ProfessorGAC
(65,010 posts)At this early point in a new prez's term, the approval rating is usually higher, but the disapproval rating is usually far lower than the approval rating. The poll i mentioned had him at 42 and 56%. Fully one quarter more people actively disapprove than approve. That's historically bad.

(55,445 posts)An influential Dem senator who knows tact and discretion should let it be known through back WH channels that the impeachment will very soon become a simple matter of "Pick a charge, any charge", and Donnie would do well to get out in the next few months with his brand and reputation intact...
Let him declare victory over "the establishment" and leave, let him say it's health issues, let him say it's for the good of the nation, let him say it's impossible to serve with so many turncoats and backstabbers in his administration, let him say he was never really serious in the first place...
