CBS News has learned that the 35-pg dossier compiled by a former British spy is gaining credibility

with law enforcement.

At issue is whether the Russian government gathered compromising information on the president during his years of doing business in country as a private citizen. The FBI is leading the investigation but several intelligence agencies are also involved. Typically an investigation of this scale would involve the sources and methods of the CIA and NSA. CNN first reported the sustained interest in the dossier by the intelligence community.

The dossier first came to the attention of U.S. officials several months ago, and it took time for it to circulate. A U.S. official familiar with the document’s origin says that even people who discounted it initially have begun to take it more seriously. (emphasis added)

This is in part, government sources say, because of statements candidate Trump was making on the campaign trail. While the Obama administration was denouncing what it alleged were Russian efforts to influence the election through cyber attacks, Mr. Trump praised Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Ultimately, the dossier’s existence was confirmed when it was revealed that FBI Director James Comey briefed then President-elect Trump with a summary of its unsubstantiated allegations.

AND NBC News.

Wonder who else will source it out and confirm it, too?

Feels almost like a counterpart to the game we're starting to play at our house - which country will he alienate next? We've already seen him throwing his weight around against Mexico. And Australia. And President Hollande of France. And the Chinese. And Yemen's mad at us now. And at least a million Britons don't want him on their shores, nor does Parliament want him to make a speech. And the Japanese Prime Minister and his wife.

Who's next?

...mild. Nothing unpredictable. This kind of document would have only the most reliable information - much more worse stuff would be included, but they wanted to include the most dependable information.

I was attempting to make a joke about how Trump calls out media outlets for reporting fake news when it's actually real, as this is now. His doing so has subsequently raised the ratings, subscriptions and circulation of those entities actually daring to report the facts.

As you noticed, I'm terrible at making jokes on the internet usually. Occasionally I do nail one though, so I keep on trying.

Last night on the Charlie Rose program, they had 4 persons on who have been reporting on this, and they all concurred that there is a lot of back-door stuff going on. A guy from Buzzfeed, a Turk, a Frenchman, and not sure just who the raspy voiced guy was with, but he seemed to really know a lot about how this all affects Asia and the Pacific Rim. Well worth watching a rerun of it.

We've already seen the FBI collaborating with the trump campaign and the Russians to throw the election in trump's favor. If they're guilty of this, as we all know, then it's quite self-serving for them to be investigating treason in which they played a central role.

And frankly, the NYT has a lot to prove, to me, after they rolled over on information before the election. But the more news organizations that start investigating, the better.

I don't even care about the "salacious" stuff. Proof that Trump and his cohorts were communicating with Russia before the election is enough for me. That's TREASON.
