A Harvard constitutional law professor who taught Michelle and Barack Obama said that while both were great students, Michelle was the star and should have been president.
"You know, his wife should have been president. Absolutely," Charles Ogletree told TMZ earlier this week when asked about how the Obamas performed when they were law students. "He was great too, but she was better."
"She could easily be president, but I don't think she will," he added.
The Obamas met at Harvard while they were students. Many have urged Michelle Obama to run for president in 2020, but the former first lady has repeatedly said that's not on her radar. Michelle was never wild about politics, Barack Obama told Jimmy Kimmel last year. Michelle once explained to me, I try to organize my life not to have a lot of mess around, and politics is just a big mess.
Despite her numerous statements that she won't run, three political committees have formed since the election urging first lady Michelle Obama to run for president in 2020.

Very doubtful that she would but never say never.

(7,431 posts)Whenever I heard Michelle speak, I had the same thoughts. She should have run for president. Barack has amazing qualities as a leader and public servant, but Michelle does him one better. If there's ever talk about national treasures, Michelle gets priority over anyone else.

(14,167 posts)I've always believed Hillary would have been a much better President than Bill.
I also believe that Michelle would be a better President than Barack. In particular, she has the intellect as well as the ability to empathize with the experience of many marginalized Americans. This is key in designing policy that helps a broad array of constituents.
