#THERESISTANCE Follows Mitch McConnell To His Own House And Its GLORIOUS (IMAGES)

Republicans who went home to their own districts are not having a good week. There have been raucus, booing, and jeering crowds at their town halls. Their office phones are ringing off the hook with angry constituents demanding that they stand up to the horrors of the Trump Administration. It gets worse for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) though.

Protesters actually showed up outside McConnell’s house in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday night, and settled in for a nice, intimidating protest. They were angry that McConnell voted to silence Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) when she was reading a letter from Martin Luther King Jr’s widow, Coretta Scott King, while speaking out against the appointment of Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) to Attorney General.

After being silenced on the Senate Floor, Senator Warren went to a nearby room and read the letter via Facebook Live. The hashtag #LetLizSpeak trended on Twitter, and Coretta Scott King’s words got more attention than they otherwise would have. The icing on the cake is that the protesters at McConnell’s house – about four hundred of them – read the letter that McConnell never wanted anyone to hear. McConnell also gave Warren supporters a rallying cry, since he was so incredibly sexist to tell a female senator to sit down and shut up. In his protests of Senator Warren’s speech, McConnell said:

“Sen. Warren was giving a lengthy speech. She had appeared to violate the rule. She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.”

That caused #ShePersisted to trend on Twitter, and that phrase is now on t-shirts and other merchandise everywhere.

While Jeff Sessions was of course confirmed and sworn in by 51 Republicans and one turncoat Democrat, this takes the scrutiny that he will be under to a whole other level. Further, Twitter lit up with the images of the protest outside McConnell’s house. Here are just a few tweets from that scene:

Much angrier about the Garland seat he denied and the Russian hacking he permitted.

McConnell really did deserve this. And more.

Did you hear Franken last night on Maher? Keep up the letters, calls and petitions. It's WORKING!!!

Last week US Rep Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) introduced a 'Resolution of Inquiry' regarding Donald Trump's corruption. This is the necessary first step to impeachment. This Resolution, if not marked up by the House Judiciary Committee within 14 days, can be taken before the House for a full floor vote.

Then the investigation begins with the full weight of the government behind it!

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!
