I'm Really Starting To Like This "Coffee Party" Movement.

Do you remember back in 2009/10 when the 'Tea Party Movement' went from small gatherings of people with idiotic signs and Gadsden Flags to big gatherings of people with idiotic signs and flags overnight? With the help of a small dose of enthusiasm from racists who didn't really give a damn about Government policy, other than the fact that there was now a black man in the White House. And with the help of a BIG dose of money from Charles Koch, a BIG dose of organizational skills from Dick Armey, and a BIG dose of advertising from Fox News which was actually giving out the phone numbers of people who'd help you organize a 'spontaneous' Tea Party on air.

At that time, small groups of people started holding counter-rallies called COFFEE PARTIES to voice SUPPORT for the Democratic Party's agenda. It didn't really catch on for a couple of reasons. First, the Democrats had the White House, and a majority in both chambers of Congress (albeit not a supermajority). So, it didn't seem as urgent to defend Democratic policies when they had most of legislative power anyway. Secondly, the Teabagger rallies got more TV time because people thought they were both funny and scary at the same time. Obese middle aged men wearing teabags on their heads and stupid 'Tree of Liberty' T-shirts was great for ratings.

Well, I think it's time to revitalize the COFFEE PARTY movement!

And I like where it's headed.

They've already chased down Turtleface McConnell at the airport, and forced him to flee in an SUV to get away from protesters. Then, for good measure, they followed him to his house, and read Corretta Scott-King's letter to him over a bullhorn, after he forbid Elizabeth Warren to read it on the Senate floor.

I LIKE IT! You really have more to fear from smart people who're hopped up on coffee than idiots with teabags dangling from tricorn hats.
