What fun! They had customers! Quite a few! I'd forgotten how good the service was and how attentive the sales staff is, 'cause it's been awhile. I told a few of them I was there to shop because they'd dumped Ivanka trump. One of them quietly commented that "there's been a lot of that." I suspect they've all been told not to talk politics or discuss the Ivanka thing, or whatever. We had a brief and discreet exchange about it.

Then, when I left, I spotted an "I'm with HER" bumper sticker on the back of this car near mine. The woman was backing out. Her window was rolled down. I hollered at her - "Like your bumper sticker!" She gave me that "look".

Have you seen that "look"?

I've begun to notice this, because I've started making a habit of finishing pleasant conversations with a cheery "hashtag The Resistance!" Whether it's on the phone, when I sense the mood is receptive, or face-to-face encounters. They give you this "look."

The "look" is one that telegraphs a bunch of interesting meanings - a conspiratorial kind of response, like a secret handshake or code word, which cues you that they're part of the same underground movement you are. Like you share the same mission, as though you're fellow warriors, or fellow undercover operatives almost. And you get it immediately. It must be the "look" that lets you know they're part of The Resistance, too.

(I've lived in a blue state for 30 years, couldn't handle red thinking, and it is worse now.)
I was amazed that even though my Texas friends voted Dem, were marching against Orange Blob, and are lawyers, several of them believe the illogical shit the Repubs spread about...Hillary stuff for one. It's like they live among these conservative peers, and they have compromised their opinions over time so that they aren't too out of line. In any other circumstances, they never would have voted for Hillary.

There are a lot of good people in Texas. Characters. People with a good sense of humor. There are a lot of Republican, hypocritical asshole control freaks too. It seems to have gotten more conservative over the years. There was a time of Ann Richards and Sarah Weddington.
Another era. The electorate was not as polarized then, Texas or any other state.
With The Republicans I know, I do not even talk about politics, as they are fricking crazy. Most of the Dems, not all, are just more conservative, even though they vote Dem. Some, in Austin, recognize the bs.

they hate him. Reasons: he was better than Hillary or the economy. That is the stupidest reason of all, given his bankruptcies, failure to pay people, multiple lawsuits, failure to pay taxes, etc. I guess it's less embarrassing to say you voted for him, if you pair it with how much you can't stand him.
My British friend hates Hillary and voted for her. As he said, I'm not voting for her to be my mate (buddy). It's like if you are picking a pilot to fly your jet, do you pick someone competent and experienced, even though you don't like her, or do you pick an incompetent idiot because you hate the alternative.

"comma splice errors."

BTW it is now pretty clear that Trump has trouble reading and has the vocabulary

who use to say, "Use your words, people." And then she would hold up a dictionary.

Somehow, strangely, they think that because of their name they are adored by millions. They are the most hated family on the planet. Hasn't she seen her "designer" crap ware in the bargain basement bins marked down to $1.00? Is she really as delusional as he is?
