General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow do YOU refer to Donald Rump in discussions?
I love certain designations that I've heard, such as Twitler, but what do YOU say?
In polite company, I refer to him as the "Grand Wizard of the United States. In other company, I simply say " fuckhead", since I want to keep saving "shithead" for George Dubya Moron.
So again, what term do YOU use? As fuckhead's favorite paper says, inquiring minds want to know!
PEACE!

(218 posts)My wife and I would like to find something similar, especially for mixed-public situations.
We're trying "45". I loved Bernice King's list of advice. "45" is on the right track, but it sounds a little too respectful, and maybe a little forced.
We'd like to find something that doesn't imply the respect we definitely do not feel, that doesn't use that hated name, but that isn't the kind of clever epithet we can use with like-minded friends (of those, my favorite is "Twitler"!)

(218 posts)...and yes, I have a Republican brother that might go well with. In fact, in a couple of weeks, I have to see him in person for the first time since way back when this guy was just a comical part of their primaries.

(218 posts)...but he can be a loose cannon, so it still has me concerned. Once we get started, I think it would be much, much harder not to escalate.
So I'm going to try hard to avoid being the instigator, and just to remind him of the danger of not abiding by our deal, and not take the bait. I'm human, though, so I'm not convinced I can succeed.
It's a designation that only a President can get - he's not a real president, he's a "so-called" president.
I call him oranganus or just trump so people who aren't familiar with the nics know who I'm talking about.

(4,112 posts)"that f*cking asshole." In more polite company, "the jackass" usually suffices. The vast majority of my friends and colleagues have deep and abiding hatred for him and I've heard quite a number of delightfully nasty monikers applied to him.

(58,785 posts)because it's very conservative around here. It's important to avoid insulting names because that would immediately focus their attention on how awful I am, distracting completely away from 45 and what he and the factions around him are up to.

(3,836 posts)Sometimes I use #45 because it's easier. Often I use #scrotus ( so-called ruler of the United States) which popped up after trump used the term "so called Judge". I refuse to capitalize his name or any of the names of the liars in his cabal.
trump is an obscenity so I am still searching for the word that can encompass that point of view.

(5,810 posts)Trumpolini, tRump (in writing), that jackass, asshole, Trumplethinskin. Nothing that offers a shred of dignity or respect since he deserves neither. He is gonna have a rough time throughout his Presidency.... for ever how long it lasts.
There are more of us who despise him than like or love him. I hope he never has a day of reprieve from our jeers and taunts until the day he checks out permanently. If he had had the good sense to just stay out of the White House, he could still be basking in the glow of his admirers, but no...he had to go for the whole enchilada. So welcome to the real world, tRump. You're gonna receive a big ol' heaping serving of the scorn you brought on yourself.

(17,276 posts)And anger and fear are closely related. Yes we are afraid, but should not show it. I think saying "#" indicates to people that he is just one more in a succession of presidents, and he is not the Almighty super power that he thinks he is. He's just another in a long line, and I don't think will be seen very well in the light of history!
You know how they say, "more heat than light"? We have to remember to be more "light" than "heat" to be taken seriously by the mainstream voter.
I look to Al Franken as the best model of this balance. He knows his stuff and is not afraid to say truth to power. In a respectful way. Just speaking the truth to them is enough! He focuses on behavior and calls it out.
