I am almost 70 years old.. and I know I am pretty damn energetic..but, there are changes with age.. less flexibility, body and mind wise.. just a fact of life.. a much younger boomer or an x'er is who I am hoping for..
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build......

(16,104 posts)It's been decades since the Democratic nominee was as old as 60 and successfully ran for president the first time.
Obama, B. Clinton, Carter, Kennedy - we are the party of youth by our record!

(10,893 posts)from the 2016 D primaries who I'd like to see run again is Martin O'Malley. He had hardly any name recognition, and he is relatively young. Aside from him, I want to see new blood, too.

(2,955 posts)Even Warren seems like she'll be too old to successfully run in 2020. Enough with grandmas and grandpas running the country! We need some fresh blood with new and relevant ideas. That's what I liked so much about Obama. He was actually a relatively young president and had plenty of energy for the job.

(17,984 posts)I don't see much interest from my students who are 18 to 45 (community college has a large age range). It seems like the people over 60 are the ones who are concerned. The under 50 crowd seems to have given up.

(284 posts)...if she wants to run, of course, which I know she almost certainly doesn't. I value her wisdom and think she actually goes out of her way to try to understand our unique obstacles. My ideal scenario would be her running with a young VP who she can groom to run in 2024.
