Stocks are booming under .. Trump, but .. critic David Stockman warns traders are living in a "fantasy land" that can't last and Trump's policies will derail the market for years ...
The former Reagan administration OMB director appeared on .. "Futures Now"last week to emphasize that Trump has become seemingly distracted by issues other than his proposed economic agenda.
That should be a particular point of worry for investors, who Stockman argued have been far more optimistic about Trump's presidency than might be warranted by the facts.
... the former Reagan aide sees the current market rally as .. not reflective of the current political climate ...

(9,129 posts)I do not believe that Donald Trump's and the Tea-publicans' policies are going to help the average investor. In fact, I suspect there'll be a downturn, and it'll hit sooner and harder than it would have if more people had turned out to vote for the sort of sane, responsible government that the Republican Party is incapable of providing.
That it is David Stockman--DAVI STOCKMAN--saying so ought to be worrisome.
But of course, doctrinaire right-wingers have long since discarded judgment guided by reason and observation in favor of action driven by wishful thinking, fear, and propaganda.

(35,365 posts)suffer from it including myself. The last two Republicans crashed the economy, GHWB had the Savings and Loan melt down
and Jr. presided over the Wall Street melt down. So why should we expect anything different from this asshole.

(13,576 posts)If they succeed in knocking out the protections put in place after the 2008 meltdown it'll just be a question of time before the whole thing comes crashing down.
I closed our 401Ks and put in all in a IRA CDs. Lousy return, but I won't lose it when the bottom falls out.

(5,624 posts)hubby has a couple small 401's that tanked in 2008. Took years to recover. At 73 he has no time for a rebuild. Do you know do banks offer them?
