As Trust In Michael Flynn Erodes, Dump Considers His Options

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-michael-flynn-replacement_us_58a1ea6ae4b03df370d8c576?

As Cheeto flew to Palm Beach on Friday with Flynn and other top advisers, he insisted that he had not seen the bombshell report, and promised reporters aboard Hair Force One that he would “look into that.” As the president returned on Sunday night, Flynn was among the aides who stepped off of Air Force One ― a sign that he still enjoyed a modicum of support from Twitler.

But there are new indications that Flynn’s standing is in serious danger as the Vulgar Yam becomes increasingly frustrated by the embarrassing revelations about Flynn’s calls and the eroding trust between his national security adviser and the rest of his top staff. On Monday, Flynn abruptly pulled out of a speaking gig for the Special Operations Forces banquet, though the administration insisted he’d never firmly committed. Flynn also reportedly apologized to Vice President Mike Pence for initially saying he had not discussed sanctions with Russia ― a statement Pence repeated on national TV.

Dolt45, meanwhile, is reportedly looking for alternatives. One option being discussed right now is replacing Flynn with retired Gen. David Petraeus, according to current and former National Security Council staffers who spoke to The Huffington Post on background. Petraeus, a former CIA director, led U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is still widely respected in national security and intelligence circles.

But there are still obstacles to Petraeus’ appointment. In spring 2015, the general pleaded guilty to giving classified information to his biographer, Paula Broadwell, with whom he was having an extramarital affair. As part of the plea deal, Petraeus was placed on two years’ probation, set to expire this spring. It is unclear whether Petraeus would be granted a top-level security clearance while he’s still on probation.

Petraeus? Jeez, Dumpster is really scraping the bottom of the barrel . . .

I don't think he would receive top security clearance or any level of clearance, because he was found guilty of passing out classified informfation in the past if it was a felony he would never get clearance.

But Kellyanne Conway, the counselor to the president, said that was not the case.
"Gen. Flynn does enjoy the full confidence of the President," Conway said on MSNBC. She later declined to detail how much the President knew about the issue and when he knew it, deeming those conversation private.
