Federal Disaster Budget Faces Huge Cuts. Follows Heritage Foundation Guidelines.

Based on article at Daily Kos the Heritage Foundation funded by the Koch brothers has major influence in pushing major cuts in the FEMA budget. Their model would save $10.5 trillion over 10 years. The Heritage model would shift costs of recovery to the states and individuals.

So if you get flattened by a tornado you are on your own. If a flood devastates you you are on you own. Traditional FEMA aid may be absent.

Well the red states will find out how their vote matters. And we also see that the Koch's probably own the GOP and Congress. Oligarchy is officially our government.

a National Emergency for any area of the country hit by severe weather, and they're all Red states. No way in hell any Blue state will ever get any help.

inflict as much financial pain as possible to state and local governments. This is "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" on steroids.

Passing expenses on to states would cause most states to raise sales taxes and fees, part of Repubs love of shifting burden of costs and taxes away from wealthier onto everyone else.
