So Trumpet is conducting a presser at this moment. To summarize this surreal performance, I have tried my best to summarize:
Begins by saying a new Rasmussen poll has him at 55% approval. I haven't checked AP today, but that is 15% off the AP poll, and it seems HIGHLY dubious to me. He spent many minutes screaming about the "dishonest press" that must be STOPPED, now whining, while wearing his famous "pouting toddler" face, that he inherited a "mess, a MESS, a MESS A MESS," Now he is slowly and painfully reading through his list of "accomplishments," and reciting, yet again, "promises" from his campaign. Now he just referred to the election, AGAIN!!!! Talking about how people are SO SURPRISED that he was elected and keeping his YUUUUUUUUUUGE promises. Talking about how many electoral college votes!! Saying, again, that he had the biggest electoral win in history. Now advertising his rally and the "massive audiences" that will be there to listen to his every word. NOW HE IS READING A LIST OF HIS "ACCOMPLISHMENTS." Now talking about the wall and all of his incredible work on immigration, saying "releasssssse" a number of times like it is part of some magical spell. Now blathering on about repealing/replacing Obamacare. Bringing jobs back, bigly. (I apologize for the sentence fragments -- I am typing quickly)
So far, not ONE WORD about the Russia scandal -- the most important political story since 9/11 and the Irad War/WMDs disaster. So far, not one word. He's been reciting his campaign speech, again, for nearly twenty minutes -- and so far crickets on the huge topic.
Seriously, does Trump have dementia in addition to his obvious narcissistic tendencies?! He repeats words and phrases endlessly, compulsively -- Talks about war and the campaign and then blathers on about how he is the "peace president." As ever, our dignified leader is reading awkwardly from a prepared speech but now has gone off script and is just reciting his campaign speech. Again.
