A Day WITH Immigrants
In the Hispanic (and somewhat not) areas of Arlington and Falls Church VA:
Observed: about 200 stores
Closed: 5
Ethnic: 3
1 dollar store
1 barber shop
1 bakery
plus
1 hole in the wall sandwich shop (probably employing immigrants)
A local radical used book store
Generally. most people stayed open to work to make rent, in my opinion.
A number of the closed announcements in the DC area involved restaurant chains (not too much affected by bad weather here this year).
