Eric Trump's winery wants more H-2 workers "on their feet in bent positions for long periods"

Eric Trump’s Virginia winery is seeking permission for the second time in three months to hire foreign workers, BuzzFeed News reports. The petition for foreign labor comes despite President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to put Americans back to work.

According to a petition to the Department of Labor that was posted online on Thursday, the Trump Winery seeks to hire 23 workers for the following positions: “Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse.”

Trump Vineyard Estates, LLC is looking to hire the workers under the federal H-2 visa program at a rate of $11.27 per hour. The H-2 visa program provides temporary work visas, allowing US employers to hire foreign laborers. This most recent petition is the second petition filed by the Trump Winery since Dec. 2, 2016, which sought to hire six foreign workers.

According to the petition, the job description notes workers would have to work in weather with temperatures as low as 10 degrees while “on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time.”

I don't think the employer has to withhold social security, medicare from pay and maybe other costs. Less oversight from governing agencies?

Will take a job for that little knowing it is going to last months? If Trump increased the pay and made the jobs permanent, Americans may be willing to work them, but he won't.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Wegmans Food Markets is the latest retailer to face political pressure for carrying products connected to President Donald Trump.

The Gates-based grocer is being called on to remove Trump Winery products from its Virginia stores, where it sells 237 different wines from 58 wineries in that state.

The Stop Trump Wine group has asked Virginians to boycott grocers, retailers, restaurants and other organizations doing business with Trump Winery.

"Events during Donald Trump's campaign made it clear that Eric Trump, the president of Trump Winery in Charlottesville, Virginia, shares the views of his father," according to the group's website. "Let's demonstrate through economic action that the residents and businesses of Charlottesville will not stand for the hatred espoused by Eric Trump and those like him."
