How could the cable news outlets not see that he was telegraphing his presidency should he win?

It was treated as a cutesy gimmick. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Attentive people saw this snake in the grass from miles away. He has always been what he is--mean, sel-serving, and duplicitous.
