his anger will get him nowhere.

Anyone who has ever read a book on relationships knows this. Anger feels empowering, and venting gives one a sense of control. But in the end it only does more damage to a conflicted relationship.

What is needed is good communication and understanding the other's point of view.

He is playing only to his base, who are with him no matter what. He thinks he is playing to the majority of us; somehow he has convinced himself that the majority of people are with him and against the media.

Example is the interaction with the Orthodox Jewish reporter. He was so loaded for bear that he didn't even listen correctly to the question. He just lashed out at a question sincerely posed by magazine that had been with him (up until now?).

If he ever resigns, it will be with a similar outburst of rage. Indignant that his governing has been questioned and resisted. He thought it would be a glorified version of being a CEO. Or a beloved king. And now shocked at how it really is.

He's damaged himself, and looks like it will only continue. Getting mad is getting nowhere!

I think even his base is wobbly. Approval is sinking like a stone, and those disapprove increases are coming from somewhere.

He seems desperate for support.

on our dime he's out there campaigning to the "base". They eat it up because they think he's made it on his own and never used the government for anything. (at least that's been my take in conversation). they don't see the carnival barker in him.

I've yet to speak with anyone that expected him to do anything for America and Americans. They all say, "Hillary blah blah blah", which was the rw meme for years.

good luck as we go forward.

It's his anger that fuels his minions. When he yells, or whines, or insults, his followers praise him.

It's Pavlovian.
