We’re ‘Missing the Point’: Carlson, Fox & Friends Smack Media’s Reaction to Trump’s Sweden Admission

by Ken Meyer | 9:52 am, February 20th, 2017

Tucker Carlson made an appearance on Fox & Friends on Monday morning, where he gave his thoughts about how President Donald Trump used a segment of his show as the basis for one of the most striking moments of a speech this past weekend.

Trump has admitted that his apparent reference to an nonexistent terror incident in Sweden was based off of a report where Carlson addressed the country’s refugee policy. Today, Carlson said that Trump should be precise in the way he speaks, but the Tucker Carlson Tonight host also opined that “we may be missing the point” the president was trying to make about crime rates and Muslim integration into European society.

Carlson argued that nationalism is on the rise of Europe as an inverse reaction to years of “social dislocation” that countries have experienced due to open-door attempts to address the refugee crisis. Eventually, Steve Doocy brought up how the media “went crazy” while covering how Trump made up a terror attack (which was scrutinized by the Swedish government and many others).

“They missed the point. There’s trouble in Sweden,” Doocy surmised. Carlson responded by again saying that Trump should be more concise, but the analysis of POTUS’s point on other news networks is “so stupid that it’s hard to believe that it made it on television.”

Seriously, a bogus TV report is the source of all this.

The so-called POTUS is basing his worldview off a TV report by Steve Doocy

I'm guessing that is an offense that deserves prison time in Trumps mind.

3. Sweden says crime rates have fallen since 2005.

It's the same phenomenon found in the US. During periods of large-scale immigration, overall crime rates fall.

4. Even conservative Cato Institute admits: immigrants result in LOWER crime rates

Numerous studies also conclude that the high immigration rate of the 1990s significantly contributed to the precipitous crime decline of that decade. According to this theory, immigrants are less crime prone and have positive spillover effects like aiding in community redevelopment, rebuilding of local civil society in formerly decaying urban cores, and contributing to greater economic prosperity through pushing natives up the skills spectrum through complementary task specialization.

7. Yeah, you are missing the point. What the hell does Sweden have to do with making America great?

Why is Trump expending political capital trying to interfere in another country's affairs? A country that isn't complaining about immigration, by the way, not to a great extent, anyways.

Sweden, for Christ's sake! A country that has virtually no political value to us! (No offense, Sweden, you're grand in my book!)

9. Because it proves his lying point that America cannot let immigrants/refugees in because they will

bring down society on every level....they take social services...they commit crimes....they don't assimilate...the bullshit list goes on.

Actually this Muslim migration is a good thing...because I believe future generations that are living in Europe and the US will be moderate and that's what we need more of...moderate Muslims.

10. We rarely hear about the larger, long-term picture.

The more integration we 'suffer', the less likelihood there is for war and the better life becomes for the greater number. But it's a glacially slow process, which makes it easier for opportunistic bullshitters as you pointed out.

I don't know if we can ever get the point across, in a political sense, that it may take 50 years or more to unite the planet but that this is something every man, woman and child should be striving for! In fact, I think Dolt45 and his crew can't arrest the progress already made, they're just doing whatever they can to be dicks about it.

11. Melania says everyone is wrong
Mon Feb 20, 2017, 01:59 PM
Feb 2017

Melania offered an explanation for the Sweden gaffe, and tells us he has been warning us for months about it, especially during one of the debates.

After her Donald saw the naughty Italian film 'Sweden Hell and Heaven"-1968, he had a dream that a bunch of women in a sauna in Sweden needed to be rescued. When he woke up he had a vague sense that something was amiss in Sweden, and concluded correctly, it was terrorism.

Melania would not comment on Donald's lawsuit against composer, Piero Umiliani, for plagiarizing his words.
