Trump constantly attempts these diversions that usually backfire since his false equivalencies and claims of fake news are so bogus

He tried diversion at the debate where Hillary brought up Trump being able to carry forward his business losses for twenty years to avoid paying incme taxes. He then asked why she hadn't done anything about it when she was in Senate. She replied she had indeed supported and voted (successfully) for change in law so that what he did was no longer allowed.
