'They're trying to turn Elizabeth into a boogeyman'

Republicans are already trying to make Elizabeth Warren the face of the Democratic Party — and the 2018 midterms.

By BURGESS EVERETT and JOHN BRESNAHAN 02/22/17 05:09 AM EST

Republicans need a new campaign villain — and Elizabeth Warren is looking increasingly like their choice.

With Barack Obama and Harry Reid out of office and Nancy Pelosi toiling deep in the minority, Republicans are in search of a figure so reviled by the conservative base that he or she motivates donors to open their wallets and voters to go the polls.

Party strategists believe the liberal Massachusetts senator’s brand of politics is a serious turnoff to voters outside the coasts — and will be a liability for at least five Democrats up for reelection in states President Donald Trump easily won. So Republicans are already making plans to raise her profile — in the worst way possible — ahead of the 2018 midterms.

Warren is getting top billing in news releases by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Senate Leadership Fund, a prominent Republican super PAC with ties to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). The NRSC is launching a new round of digital ads on Wednesday dinging incumbent Democrats for voting with Warren, officials said. And it’s just a matter of time before she’s featured prominently in TV ads, too.

We are lucky to have her.

Incidentally, many native people acknowledge Warren's indigenous ancestry, and were deeply insulted when the republican president tried to demean her by calling her Pocahontas - the name of an honorable native woman who helped make it possible for the White IMMIGRANTS & INVADERS of yesteryear to eat and to survive in the Americas, especially in Tsenacommacah, which encompasses the Tidewater region of Virginia. Pocahontas nobly and bravely helped to spare the life of a white colonial Bully Boy who was about to be executed by war club.

Thus, in a way not intended by ungrateful republican hate mongers, the name Pocahontas connotes honesty, integrity, respect and honor. All those descriptors fit Sen. Warren, as well as the late Pocahontas.

Warren is a women and she persisted. The problem with this theory is that Warren is now an icon against McConnell (and the connection to Trump is so strong because of McConnells wife now).

The faces of the GOP now includes many odious persons like Chaffetz, Nunes, Bannon, Spicer, and Ryan. And they can't hide their orange greasepainted Nero, #45.
The essential goal of their distraction is to ramp up hate against a public figure or the press or a company so that nobody notices the fact that the GOP can't govern. That may work for an opposition party but it won't cut it when all 3 branches rest with one party.

I think it's a misfire on their part but we have to fight fire with fire. We have to get down and dirty. We need a strategy and a spine.
