Over the course of about 40 minutes, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston delivered a good message a heartfelt, you-can-do-anything message to young kids who probably cant imagine that even being close to true, Tampa Bay Times sports columnist Tom Jones wrote. For many, it might have been the first time anyone ever told them such things.
But things took a turn when Winston gave a bunch of elementary school students his views on gender roles.
All my young boys, stand up. The ladies, sit down, Winston said. But all my boys, stand up. We strong, right? We strong! We strong, right? All my boys, tell me one time: I can do anything I put my mind to. Now a lot of boys arent supposed to be soft-spoken. You know what Im saying? One day yall are going to have a very deep voice like this (in deep voice). One day, youll have a very, very deep voice.
But the ladies, theyre supposed to be silent, polite, gentle. My men, my men (are) supposed to be strong. I want yall to tell me what the third rule of life is: I can do anything I put my mind to. Scream it!

If you read the whole article Jameis Winston claimed he made the comments because he was trying to connect with a young boy who seemed to be zoning him out. He (Winston) claimed he did not want to single out the boy so he asked all the boys to stand up.
For me this is bad all around. A guy who was accused of raping at least one female went into a room full of children and essentially told the girls sit down, shut up, and you cannot be whatever you aspire to be in life. That is bad.
