Why did the Comey/Priebus transaction go public?

Wouldn't that be something Comey could have told him in private?

I have read this was illegal for Priebus to ask the FBI and therefore by the FBI going public means they have a case coming.

What do you think this means?

1. Here's my take (supply your own salt):

The IC as a whole (FBI, CIA, NSA, etc)is not on "our side". Nor is it on "their" (DFT's) side. The IC is on one side only: old big money. The Rmoney's, Vanderbilts, etc. Those you very occasionally hear about but seldom see. Created of by and for old big money. They don't give a rats ass about who is in power as long as old big money stays stable. They don't care if you get healthcare, a raise, or a poke in the eye. Stability for old big money is all that matters.

And DFT is starting to fuck with that. And not in a good way for us either.

4. I don't know that they even care about that.

What with Puts/Calls, all those financial instruments that can make money from everything losing money, etc.

International stuff I think is more important: If foreign gov's start getting hostile, threatening to seize/embargo/whatever U.S. holdings (for example, United Fruit's land holdings in SA) DFT would be gone that afternoon. He'd be like that 30 yr old reluctant to move out from mom and dads and the dad gets fed up and says "Today! Not tomorrow, not after you get a job! TODAY! 3:00!!!"

BUT, the MOST important thing is that no razors get imported from France.

2. Priebus hisownself said last Sunday that he talked to 'intelligence community"

"I mean, we've spent days talking about a story that says that our campaign had constant contacts with Russian spies. And I can tell you, I've talked to the top levels of the intelligence community, and they've assured me that that New York Times story was grossly overstated and inaccurate and totally wrong," Priebus told host Chuck Todd.

He continued: "It is this sort of fake news stuff that is enormously important that, when you get a front page story of New York Times without a single source on the record saying that your campaign had constant contact—they didn’t say one contact. They didn’t say two contacts. It doesn’t matter. We have not been informed of even that."

The chief of staff made similar comments on Fox News Sunday, citing the "top-level" intelligence officials who told him there were no contacts between Russia and the campaign.

He just couldn't get them to back him up in his lies.

Plus he is not cleared to talk to the FBI about an ongoing investigation involving the executive. And, he may have obstructed justice. This is a clear case of reporters doing their jobs.

5. I think Priebus set up his boss.

My theory:

Trump ordered Priebus to ask FBI for help with scandal. Priebus meets Republican leadership, and sets the strategy.

Priebus commits crime, testifies to Trump's order, Trump impeached, Pence installed, Priebus walks free.

Republicans think Russia story goes away.

This scenario is my invention, based on absolutely nothing.
