George Soros Open Society Foundations is denying Republican claims that the Democratic mega-donor and the nonprofit have been funding protests at GOP lawmakers town hall meetings.
There have been many false reports about George Soros and the Open Society Foundations funding protests in the wake of the U.S. presidential elections, a spokesman for the foundation said in a statement. There is no truth to these reports.
The rebuttal comes at a time when crowds of constituents and activists are showing up to the town hall meetings of GOP lawmakers to voice concerns over President Trump and the congressional Republicans policy agenda.

(7,113 posts)I was told Soros would load my account with bitcoins each time I attend a lefty march, rally, or town hall.
The trick is verifying attendance but it's all very clever: A retina scan via a Soros satellite! Just be sure to look skyward with wide eyes upon arrival and departure!

(63,845 posts)isn't it??? People that are attending town halls are american citizens or constituents pissed off at their Representatives not doing anything or just taking the ACA away.
I loved that woman who said what insurance company do you have? Yes, they need to keep on hearing that. Health care is a right not a privilege.
They just love blaming someone else.

(24,412 posts)there was tons of information/evidence that the Koch Bros. were actively (and openly) funding Tea Party groups (maybe still are?) whose members showed up at Democratic town halls in 2009-2010. Speaking of the Tea Party, we don't hear much about them anymore. Do any of the groups still exist. Curious. For the record, I don't even care if George Soros is funding anti-Trump groups but Republicans don't have any evidence that the people whom are showing up at town hall meetings aren't constituents either or are "paid protesters".
