Poor President Trump. Its only been a month and, by all accounts, the ship is already sinking. Not just because its captain is steering it right into the path of an oncoming iceberg, which everyone, but him, plainly sees. Trump has a bigger problem on his hands... Russia.
For his loyal crew, its all-hands-on-deck-time already just to try and keep the facts at bay, thereby preventing this ship of lies from taking on water in the form of that ole party pooper, Truth. And, despite the presidents refusal to see, or acknowledge it, the scandal is being fueled by leaks on all sides of his administration that will ultimately end up doing more damage than the approaching iceberg.
CNNs report that the FBI refused an administration request to shoot down reports in The Washington Post and The New York Times (i.e., the fake media) that Trumps campaign staff had on-going contact with Russian officials before and after the election is just the tip of the iceberg.
<snip>
If youre the Russians, your plan is working masterfully.
Meanwhile, Trumps effort to play down his Russia ties are getting thinner and thinner, especially after the now-disgraced Flynn was caught lying about his talks with Russian operatives to the feds. Even Republican senators are coming forward demanding an investigation, while Democrats in Congress are exploring potential avenues for impeachment. The walls are definitely starting to close in around the Orange One. - Huffington Post
The news of his downfall can't come soon enough in my book. FBI/CIA/NSA. Build that solid case and destroy this traitor and his GOP enablers, those that support his illegal actions with their blessings. Now!

(30,058 posts)Celebrate at the same time. Another lie easy to check out, I would think Flynn would have been smarter.

(14,276 posts)I have been saying that he would authorize the killing of Americans since day 1. I thought he would do it within 30 days. My time table is off, but I have no doubt that it is still coming. I hope our news media has brave people, because they seem to be his target.

(63,221 posts)arrogant to think that he could ever be brought down. He is so in over his head, but his bloated ego will never allow him to see it. He's just a patsy and when he's no longer useful, no one will protect him. He'll go down. It's just a matter of time.

(163 posts)Everybody knows what's going on, even the ones that support him.
There are too many top GOPers involved. We have to hope for the miracle of a conscience somewhere in that morass.

(53,072 posts)It's a writer's (self-identified musician and food snob) analysis of problems related to Trump and Russia. There is no indication Trump is going anywhere. The GOP congress continues to support him, and as long as they do, he stays president.
Just because you see a title that makes you happy doesn't mean Trump's presidency is going down.

(53,072 posts)and Trump continues to enjoy the highest approval rating among Republicans of any GOP president in recent history, including Reagan. Gerrymandering doesn't suddenly become irrelevant.
If politics were as simple as you suggest, the country wouldn't be in the clusterfuck it is today.

(8,652 posts)also existed in 2006 and 2008, both elections ended with Democratic majorities in the exact same districts that will be voting in 2018.
The problem isn't how Republicans vote, it's that our base needs to get out and vote to overcome that.
Right now, enthusiasm is on our side. If that continues, there's no reason why we can't take back the House.
There are 24 House districts that have Republican Congressmen that Hilary carried. There's much more than that in which Trump received less than 50% of the vote. There's even more in which Trump won by less than 5%. Add them up, and our enthusiasm can overcome the Gerrymandering, just as it did in 2006.

(129,526 posts)We have been hearing about his imminent "downfall" since the primaries, yet there he is. Literally rampaging through our society like a bull in a china closet, smashing and crushing everything in his path.

(4,428 posts)He is not. He is the true GOP agenda. He and they will destroy every federal agency and program they can. They know their time is limited.
Trump is going under the bus. He is the patsy.

(218 posts)Look, I'd love to see that Trump is carted off to jail.
But
We need the rage to carry us through so that people are so fired up and ready to roar in Nov. 2018 that Republicans are swept out of office.
So..hang in there my friends.

They don't care.
In fact they cheer him on about this.
