(111,256 posts)When they put it back at the top of the news, that's when he will be on the way out.
Either they don't have official confirmation or they don't want to admit how suckered they were over the last year and a half while a lot of this bullshit was going on.

(171,065 posts)official confirmation. The media obviously now loathes him as much as we do; about 12 months too late, but I'll take it. Maybe that's his game; piss them off enough to get him impeached, then he can play golf til he drops.
I always have to keep in mind he only cares about himself and his 'legacy', though he has a very bizarre way of showing it.

(13,595 posts)Face it. As long as trump can use a pen, the GOP will leave him alone and protect him. Trump will give them everything they want in return. There is no mechanism in our legal or political systems to do anything about this.

(171,065 posts)I sure hope so...but you're right, they're getting everything they want first.
Robert Reich explains how the GOP is playing Trump until they can dump him
Theyll pull the trigger: Robert Reich explains how the GOP is playing Trump until they can dump him
Writing on Facebook, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich relayed a conversation with a former GOP member of Congress who claims current members of the House are playing along with President Donald Trump for now but will dump him at the first possible moment.
According to Reich, he recently had breakfast with a Republican friend who claimed he held his fire over his misgivings about Trump during the election, saying, You kidding? I was surrounded by Trump voters. Id have been shot.
That was when the conversation took an interesting turn when Reich asked his friend what the GOP will do now that Trump is president.
Theyll play along for a while, the unidentified friend said. Theyll get as much as they want tax cuts galore, deregulation, military buildup, slash all those poverty programs, and then get to work on Social Security and Medicare and blame him. And hes such a fool hell want to take credit for everything.
Asked what happens then, the Reichs friend laughed and said, They like Pence.

(7,309 posts)Get out in front of it and detail how the GOP is cynically using Trump's treason to take away Medicare and Social Security before finally starting impeachment proceedings.
Push the GOP into action instead of pussyfooting around.

(16,104 posts)In this case, it will probably be a family intervention - there is no way they want to leave the White House with this legacy and their fortune in shambles.

(16,104 posts)There are a number of Republicans in the Senate who love America - and have no love for the Corrupt One in the White House.
When they flip, it is over.
Watch them at the "State of the Union" Tuesday and the next day! It could be over real soon!

(128,974 posts)That is the main reason why they are keeping Drumpf there as the auto-signer-in-chief. Sure Pence could do it but the foaming-at-the-mouth Drumpf supporters would be livid and would target every single one of the non-teabagger reps who dare touch their golden calf.
I am debating watching the SOTU. May end up putting it on CSPAN with mute and closed-caption.

We cannot let them get away with this.
We gave them a pass with Nixon but NO MORE.

(9,670 posts)Someone describe a scenario where a special prosecutor will be named to investigate Trump, Pence, his advisors, his cabinet, and Congress with respect to their relationship with Russian benefactors.
The crimes are obvious. The punishment is doubtful. No checks and balances.

(4,760 posts)this crowd, including their leader, keeps doing stupid stuff. Intellectually lazy and morally corrupt people with too much power always shoot themselves in the foot. If they go down it will be the stupidity of the cover-up, not the crime.
