Was the Preibus-F.B.I. meeting a con job ?

It happened, of course, but did the Deputy Director actually tell Preibus that the Times story on the Trump-Russia connection was bogus? We have only Preibus's (and "senior White House officials'&quot word on that.

That is:

1.) Preibus planned on calling Andrew McCabe (F.B.I. The Deputy Director) aside and speaking with him after the meeting.

2.) Preibus could have said anything (possibly "Why don't you guys drop the Trump-Russia contacts story?&quot and McCabe might have answered anything (possibly "Why don't you go f*ck yourself?&quot .

3.) But what Preibus and White House officials report is that McCabe told Preibus the Times story of the Trump-Russian contact was B.S."

4.) Therefore, the contact was staged so that they would take a bit of political heat (making the entire seem realistic) while undermining the F.B.I investigation, and they know that since the matter is under-investigation McCabe cannot say differently.

The question:

Does the fact that they're floating this whle increasingly undermining the press indicate that something big is about to come out?

(Then they can say the F.B.I. is misleading and the press is reporting fake news.)

Stay tuned.

1. Where did the FBI say anything about the story. Apparently other than saying there was inappropriate

It could be a lie.

That was the point. To inject a lie into the news cycle. (Successfully it seems)

to say "I told you so", something bad (for them) must be happening. But everyday you put off that evil day of reckoning and hold onto the power is a small victory.

Of course, maybe they are just idiots who have not read Machiavelli.

5. Or is it a too obvious BANNON ploy to get rid of PRIEBUS?

The O.P.'s scenario would be a coordinated team effort, uniting BANNON-PRIEBUS. PRIEBUS is an Establishment type who gives at least lip service to rules and the rule of law. It doesn't jibe that he would overtly break the rules. Plus, DRUMPF throws foot stamping hissy fits through which he demands that underlings go out there and do stuff, best shown in SPICER's first confrontation with the press. So the big story is that DRUMPF *ordered* whomever to do the stuff.

7. IMO, a different scenario is taking place:

Priebus got Bannon onto the CPAC stage to expose Bannon's batshit crazy ideas so that GOP DONORS can get a real earful and get alarmed that Bannon's vision that is shaping the politics of the nation is really BAD FOR BUSINESS. "Bad" as in "catastrophic". Billionaires and mega corporations, except for the MIC, should be shitting in their pants right now because they are projecting into the future and estimating what those quarterly dividends are going to look like when the self-immolating policies take effect and the economy tanks. I anticipate that Daryl Issa won't be the only GOPer demanding an independent prosecutor. GOPers are getting angry phone calls right now, from the people who've bestowed hundreds of millions into the GOP campaigns. They know that consumer confidence and consumer spending are going off a cliff, and they aren't very happy.

9. The press feels abused and talks about it all day...

Instead of reporting on the violations of the 'dangerous hombres'.

Just a theory. It is Trump's war on immigrants that should stay front and center, anything the White House does that keeps the press talking about themselves and the administration instead of talking about how due process is being violated is a win for the administration.

The Russian connection will crop up when the press has something, until then they should report on what Trump is doing to the Hispanic population.

First they came for the illegals...
