Most Who Voted Third Party Approve of Trump

February 26, 2017 By Taegan Goddard

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds that 44% of Americans approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 48% disapprove, “making him the first president of the post-World War II era with a net negative approval rating in his first gauge of public opinion.”

Very interesting: “Mr. Trump’s approval rating may have been worse were it not for support from a surprising corner of the electorate. His job performance won positive reviews from 55% of respondents who had voted for a third-party candidate in November, who didn’t vote at all or said they supported Mr. Trump mostly to oppose Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.”

To read the comments.

Unless one is looking for a reason to blame liberals/leftists, one might find these statistics unremarkable. Johnson voters were many times the number of Stein voters and a lot of Libertarians are pleased as punch with Trump so the ONLY thing notable about 55% of Third Party voters giving Trump a favorable rating is that it seems to indicate that not only do ZERO ZIP NADA radical leftists give Trump a favorable rating, but a sizable number of people on his side don't support him either.

I have a feeling though that we will see more than a post or two falling for this Politico/Trump attempt to divide and use the story to attack "the left."

On edit: and before I could finish typing . . . CASE RESTS

nationwide he got 3.08 times the votes that Stein did.

Likewise, very similar ratios in all 3 of the most critical states (Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin)

I can't draw a pie chart, so will try a bar chart. The bar below represents the third party voters. The magenta "J" part represents those who voted for Johnson. The green "S" represents those who voted for SweinStein:

I know people who voted third party, and none support Trump. It's just that they felt their ideals were much better represented in the other candidates platform.

As for Stein voters I doubt any of them are pro-Trump. Seems to fly in the face of logic lol.

The devotion to her is rather cult-like. I think that ONE Academy Award she lucked-in to winning has gone to her head. She's no Meryl Streep, that's for sure. Sarandon is a one-off recipient and a political hack.

Streep is a proven talent and she's much more thoughtful, wise and mindful in her political views and statements.

Sarandon needs to be more like Streep. (But I think she's too vain and prideful and full of herself to even consider it.)

for helping Trump win...not an ounce of compassion in that terrible woman's entire body...Ms. Entitled Hollywood faces no consequences for her actions...but the undocumented fleeing into Canada terrified of Trump's America are running from this country for their lives... she helped create the Trump nightmare...the man killed in Kansas because he had dark skin...she and others like her who helped Trump win by this call for 'purity' and hatred of the Democratic party can burn in hell as far as I am concerned... oh and how many will die of polluted water? Will the LGBTQ be subjected to criminal prosecution once more after Trump packs the court? Is Roe VS Wade be gone? So much horror that she helped unleash...I think she is a narcissist just like Trump and cares for nobody but herself...it will be a cold day in hell before I support any of her acting projects. She is just as wicked as Trump.

Not that her approach is approving OF him per se, but now that what's done is done, taking the approach of letting this spur real, moving change- I like that idea. Purposefully getting him elected to induce revolution is horrible obviously.

Now that we must deal with it, I am for the "bring it" mindset because well we MUST, at this point. Taking the shit pie and making fertilizer out of it, etc.

That 55% won't hold if things continue on this path.

Once that is down to ~40% his overall approval will be around 35.

College age men, you think anything Trump has done has affected them yet? NO.... Almost everyone I know voted for Bernie first (with a few exceptions, we didn't have arguments over it, we're on the same team), and all but college age men voted for Hillary in the election. When those college age guys get picked up for smoking pot or their parents lose their jobs that pay their tuition, or the student loans and grants they rely on change or go away, they'll be thinking a little differently.... give it time IMHO. Betsy hasn't really gotten to work yet...

and they are Trump supporters....in WVA , we know those who voted for Bernie in the primary never intended to vote for Bernie in the election...they told the pollsters that. I always thought that some of the supporters were Ron Paul types...and of course anyone who did not vote for Hillary supported Trump whether they voted for the gorilla, traitor Stein Green's, libertarian or stayed home. I for one am not willing to squander our best chance to stop Trump in 18 and 20 by catering to those who don't consider Trump enough motivation to work together and keep coming up with ideas that will surely cause us to lose.

the largest 3rd party vote was libertarian and, at least from what I can see on social media, that faction is pretty happy with Trump's actions so far.

This being the case, why is it assumed here that it's the Greens who are on board with Trump in that survey?

Am I missing something?

Gary Johnson 4,489,233 3.27%
Dr. Jill Stein 1,457,222 1.06%
Evan McMullin 731,709 0.53%
Other (+) 453,856 0.33%

BoBers work completely on the beliefs of self. They will be supportive toward Trump in polls because the reality they have helped to create is much too horrifying for their simple and delicate minds.
