(3,040 posts)But we do not want to start burning the books of those we don't agree with. If you don't agree with a book, don't buy it. We do not want to start preventing someone from selling books we don't agree with or despise -- because then our opponents will start to come after us in the same manner.

(13,340 posts)Refusing to facilitate the sale of a book is NOT the same as preventing it's sale.
If I were in charge of Amazon, there is no way I would be selling books that promoted that point of view, just like if I own a sporting goods store, I don't have to sell guns.

(6,034 posts)It an agreement to not sell it. A privately owned book store owner can choose what to sell and not to sell. If an owner notices that mysteries are the hottest selling item he or she will probably make room for more mysteries at the expense of some other items.

does this relate to the current alt-right administration who wants to ban any media outlets that criticize it?

(18,124 posts)are perpetrated by and large by the ignorant and hateful among us. The alt-right has been and is inciting this hate. Whether the 'denier books' of the Holocaust are sold on Amazon, they will be sold on 'hate radio and internet by a multitude of sources. Won't stop the hate if Amazon forced to stop selling the books. Wrong focus on this attack. Hate radio and internet perps must be destroyed.

(18,124 posts)and voice that hate anywhere, anytime they please. Yet the hate radio of today along with the internet crosses the line when one of it's listeners or hate filled social media mavens crosses the line and violently acts out the scenarios intimated as being a solution on hate radio and described in social media. Yes, a huge conundrum.

(53,956 posts)The title of the article is misleading. It was the Holocaust Museum in Israel, Yad Vashem, which asked, for a second time. While I understand their position, and have no problem with them asking, I don't like to see "blacklists" of what is and isn't acceptable for sale.

(2,955 posts)If you don't agree with it don't buy the books. It's that simple. Any actual holocaust deniers would just be emboldened by laws banning the sale of the books. They would claim it was part of a big conspiracy or something.
