Sean Spicer had a rather unflattering nickname in college

"The First Amendment does uphold the right [to] free speech and a free press, which I respect, however this situation goes beyond the bounds of free speech," he wrote in a 1993 letter to the editor published in The College Voice, the school's student newspaper.

Spicer, who ran unsuccessfully multiple times for student government president, was referring to the newspaper calling him "Sean Sphincter" in a previous edition. He said he was told it was an "unintentional mistake," a joke that went unnoticed, but Spicer said he believed it was a "malicious and intentional attack."
