Remember that we just killed an 8 year old American girl in Yemen. That kind of thing tends to impact all of society.

Some people seem averse to talking about Jewish suffering without bringing in "context"

As does the insertion of personal narrative and bias, neither adding to nor removing from the original point.

You don't generally see that sort of thing in response to other posts about threats against minority groups in the United States.

nursery schools/day cares.

On another note--I have a brother whose kids go to a nearby Muslim run pre-school. It has a good reputation and is close to home. He was born Catholic and raised but his girl is not baptized and they do not plan on it. He does does not believe in organized Religion (with a big R). He says only about half of the kids at the pre-school are Muslim, but it does a good job and has been running for many years now.

....within a short time frame, it's no coincidence.

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Bomb-threat-closes-Market-Street-in-downtown-San-10964035.php

A block of San Francisco’s busy Market Street was shut down in both directions for more than two hours at rush hour Monday evening because of a bomb threat at the offices of the Anti-Defamation League, authorities said.

The threat was one of 28 called into Jewish community centers and schools in 17 states on Monday. A threatening phone call was reported at the Oshman Family Jewish community center in Palo Alto.

Threats against Jewish organizations and community centers have proliferated since President Trump took office in January, according to community leaders.

ANN ARBOR, MI - Bomb threats are becoming all too frequent at Jewish community centers and Hebrew schools across the country, says Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor Executive Director David Shtulman.

It's why he wasn't truly concerned for his safety when a threat was called in about 9:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor at 2937 Birch Hollow Drive. The Hebrew Day School and the Jewish Federation are both housed at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor on Birch Hollow.

It's the second time such an incident has happened at the center in the last year and, for Jewish institutions, "it's really just a question of when it happens," Shtulman said.

"What really goes through our heads is, 'Oh, no, not again,'" he said outside the center, after police cleared the building.

And all he has is empty words - mostly spoken by a mouthpiece - about how terrible anti-Semitism is.

A few weeks ago I gave a talk about photography at the local JCC, to a group of mostly retired people. It was fun! Why anybody would call in a bomb threat on these people is something I can't fathom.

Edited to add: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article135215189.html

That's Charlotte, that's where I gave my talk.

snip of article

Israel’s opposition leader Isaac Herzog delivered a startling message to the Trump administration on Monday: Israel must prepare to accept American Jews fleeing the country amid a new wave of anti-Semitism.

The leader of the Zionist Union Party—the main challenger to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud faction and far-right coalition—was reacting to a rise of anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S., including the desecration of tombstones at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia and multiple bomb threats at Jewish centers and schools across the country.

"I call on the government to urgently prepare and draw up a national emergency plan for the possibility of waves of immigration of our Jewish brothers to Israel,” Herzog said at a meeting of his party on Monday, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported .
