Poll: De Blasio approval rises, as challengers lag

ADDY BAIRD

Half of New York City voters approve of the job Mayor Bill de Blasio has done while in office, his highest approval rating since January 2016, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday. Forty-two percent of voters said they disapprove of the mayor's performance.

De Blasio’s approval rating has increased from 45 to 50 percent among all voters, from 59 to 68 percent with Democrats, and from 66 to 73 percent among black voters since a January 18 poll.

By a slim margin, 47 to 44 percent, a plurality of voters also said de Blasio deserves to be reelected this year. In last month’s poll, 48 percent of voters said the mayor did not deserve to be reelected.

If there is no indictments in the investigations looking into him I don't see him losing re-election. While I am not a fan of de Blasio, I sure as hell don't want a Republican that will raise rent and continue handing this city over to the rich. The fact there are trendy areas here in Brooklyn makes me sick!

I think Trump will re-elect de Blasio and the next mayoral race in 2021 will be a packed primary.

Of course all of this depends on the outcomes of the investigations looking into him.

That said, he'd certainly be better than a Con any day as well as some potential dems such as Scott Stringer.
