As many of you I've followed this story since it broke last night. Watching news channels, reading the news sites and boards.
To me, as of 9:30 am Eastern there'should a lot of calls for Sessions to recuse himself, both Republicans and Democrats. A FEW demo calling for him to resign, and just a minority calling for a Special Prosecutor.
I think if we want to see this story blow up and consume Donald it will only come from a Special Prosecutor (note: not Special Investigator. BIG difference).
YES session my end up gone in the long run, but even then the Republicans will not let it go farther. The only way to fan the flames and keep the fire roaring is with a Special Prosecutor.
So, I think we should demand it, keep demanding it, and not stop til we get it.
Refusing himself is not enough.
We need a Special Prosecutor.

(3,847 posts)I watch the CNN special with McCain and Graham...I was praying they would step up about this Russia crisis. THey had that moment tobecome true leaders of the Congress, they not only looked at each other like, 'Oh shit, what's going on?' when Dana was telling them about the new revalation about Sessios.
At that moment they could have taken over the Congress as true leaders, instead they punked, they were obtuse and showed them as the moral cowards they are.

(2,807 posts)My dream is that he's dragged kicking and screaming after an ugly televised trial.
But realistically, I don't want this story to recede just by refusing himself.
I want the fire to grow, not languish, I want it to grow and destroy other Republicans.

(7,813 posts)tasked with investigating Vince Foster's suicide, Whitewater (which the Clintons lost money on), and investments in cattle futures (in which the Clintons made a $99,000 profit). These episodes were seen by the gop as serious enough to warrant a special prosecutor, 10s of millions of dollars of investigations, depositions by a sitting president, etc. They lucked into a blowjob and a blowjob coverup.
What we are hearing about in this administration is orders of magnitude more serious, both in terms of the amount of money involved and the FOREIGN country providing it.
IIRC, the Clintons invested 1,000 and made 100,000 on cattle futures and the RW went nuts. The amount of money involved in all the Trump and Trump associations with Russia is astronomical and includes the Cyprus Bank, Russian money laundering through NY and Trump Tower, Trump profiting 50 million on a quick turnaround of real estate to a Russian/Ukrainian, the most profitable corporation in the history of the world contributing its CEO to the administration, our POTUS potentially dividing up the world with the richest man in the world -- head of Russia. We aren't even talking about millions, or billions...it's TRILLIONS of dollars on the line.
From the right...crickets.

(2,807 posts)I'm old. I watched as we had a fourth branch of government for a few years. The Kenneth Start branch that began as an investigation into real estate deal and ended up years later proving Bill Clinton got a blow job.
they even admitted a we, um 'stained' blue dress as evudrnce.
oh yes, I saw it all.
