Sessions should NOT resign nor recuse himself...

... from the Russia/Trump investigation at this time.

He needs to hang on and defy all attempts to get him out of office. In fact, he needs to announce that he doesn't have time to look into the Russia thing because he is focusing on Clinton's emails and Obama's birth certificate, and besides, he's looked into Trump's eyes and has seen his genuine character.

He MUST do this. Keith Olbermann recently did a piece on the IC eating the Trump presidency. It's worth watching if you didn't see it:

http://video.gq.com/watch/the-closer-with-keith-olbermann-the-intel-community-and-the-slow-death-of-trump-s-presidency?c=series

Keith is a little melodramatic at times, but I think he's spot on this time. The IC is going after Trump. They need to continue to do so - slowly. This needs to drag out for a year to 18 months. I want it to eventually come out that members of the administration are hosting goat banging parties in the Lincoln bedroom. But that needs to come out in September 2018. Not NOW.

This administration is as handcuffed right now as we can hope them to be. As more and more piles of Trump leak from the 45th colostomy bag, they will only become more impotent and distracted by the chaos. If we can drag this side show out long enough to get to the mid-terms and retake at least the Senate amid the shit storm, we can do some damage control.

If Sessions goes down now, and a SP is appointed to dig up all the bones, I fear the whole band of immoral men will be slain and gutted. Trump goes down in flames and Pence rides in to restore the perception of order, and is lauded as a hero because he's only insane, not "holy batman shit" insane. If that happens soon, by 2018 it'll be just another mid-term election.

Drag it out. Enjoy SNL, sit back and let the leaks continue.

Besides, I'm afraid that if General Jeff resigns, he'll come back to Alabama politics. We have enough shit on our plate right now, thank you. DC can keep him a while longer.

He was pushed on Trump by Paul Manafort. If you recall, Manafort was the first of the Trump bunch to have to step down when his ties to Russia were revealed. Pence has been protected until now. That whole thing about Flynn lying to Pence was most likely for plausible deniability. If people are allowed to keep digging, I am sure Pence will be front and center into the whole affair.

... Pence will be protected. And even if not, eventually someone will be anointed the white knight and they'll try to pivot back to politics as usual.

I just want the circle jerk to continue long enough to have an impact on the mid term. I don't want someone to come in with"solutions" now.

Unfortunately, they are good at winning, but lying and cheating. One thing that we can always count on them doing however, is over reaching and screwing things up.

What sucks is that then the Democrats have to come in and fix everything by being the grown ups, then after we fix it, they start whining about how we've made them eat their vegetables too often and try to cheat out another election.

There is no white knight. I can see what you are saying, but it really is up to the Democrats to keep the momentum going. We should not have to wait for the Republicans to keep stepping on the rake.

... "solutions" was in quotes. I wouldn't expect real solutions. Just the traditional right wing illusion of them to foster their agenda ... to win again.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't want to lose this anti-Trump momentum. I think it can reap big rewards in 2018 and 2020. If the clown act is cancelled and someone gets in there to "normalize" this insanity for a year or so, I'm afraid we'll lose that edge.

I am just tired of the Democrats snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. If we can't make hay out of this level of corruption and scandal, then we as Democrats need to pack it in.

That said, yes, it would be good if this scandal engulfed a lot more Republicans over the next several months.
