Right about now, our gal has her shoes kicked off, sitting in her easy chair with a glass of wine or a vodka martini and is laughing her ass off! Trump/Putin/ Pence/emails/private server. Can ya'll hear it?

(28,344 posts)We underestimated the scope, power and intensity of the racism roiling and boiling amongst our own neighbors, family and friends.
We believed the hot, white hate of misogyny had been driven far enough into the shadows, we believed it was a relic of our grandmothers' time, we trusted that progress and enlightenment had turned the tide.
We overestimated the discernment, intelligence, integrity and propriety of the white American voter.
We should have fought harder, made more calls, knocked on more doors.

(2,591 posts)She always said she would be fine, whether she won or lost. She wanted to help us, lead us, and help fix us. Now we will never have that.
I'm angry at those who voted for Jill Stein, and those who stayed home and would have voted Democrat, had they gone.
The Trump voters, most of them, they were a lost cause anyway.

(81,565 posts)No kidding. I feel the same way most of the time. I feel cheated, too. I wanted those brains in the Oval Office. Brilliant and resilient. Creative and resourceful - willing to get down into the weeds on any issue to understand it fully, all the better for realistic, practical problem-solving. SHIT do we ever need that. Instead, we have a tower of orange turds in there.
I STILL can't believe that fucking pervert is in OUR White House - a puppet installed there by a hostile foreign power. Let's never forget that. I wake up every morning feeling like a hostage. Literally a stranger in a strange land.

(12,472 posts)The extreme hypocrisy by the republicans and tRump....To hold Hillary to such an inflated professional standard, submit her to an abusive gauntlet of male dominate harassment via emails hype, Benghazi etc.. all along, practicing treasonous acts against their constituents...

(59,508 posts)that she loves. I would bet that she is concerned that years of hard won gains could be blown up -- causing pain for those most vulnerable. Not to mention, the personal. Think of all the years, all the work, all the slings and arrows she exposed herself to to become President - the first woman to become so. I doubt anyone who became the nominee of either party ever gets completely past having come that close - and not winning. I suspect that - even as some speak of 2020 - she likely knows that that dream .. a dream that was close enough she likely could taste it -- is over.
I would bet that there are campaign operatives doing exactly what you suggest. Many of them, maybe even some of those who are most talented, might be doing exactly what you describe. To them, politics, though very serious, is also party a game which they know they excel at. They also know that everything happening now is something they could use to potentially win in the next challenge - in 2017 for a few governor races, 2018 for Congress and the Senate and then the Presidency. Many of them - especially the younger ones - likely know that there will be many races they work on and they could still be a top operative on a Presidential campaign that wins.
