http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/4227317-trump-administration-delays-asian-carp-projectAfter months of expert and public input, the plan was supposed to be released Tuesday by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and would have laid out the methods of stopping Asian bighead and silver carp at the Brandon Road Lock and Dam near Joliet, Ill.
The release is on indefinite hold for now, Allen Marshall, public affairs officer for the Army Corps Rock Island District, told the News Tribune.

"The Trump administration's decision to block the release of a plan to protect the Great Lakes from the invasive Asian carp is unacceptable," said Marc Smith, policy director for the National Wildlife Federation's Great Lakes Regional Center. The plan "needs to see the light of day to help prevent the Asian carp from wreaking havoc on our environment and economy. Delaying action only allows the carp to keep swimming closer to our Great Lakes."
Trump's interference in already approved environmental projects stands to set us back materially in protecting our nation from harm. It's just one other way he is working to destroy this country.

(146,307 posts)It appears that the Trump administration is blocking all actions taken by agencies before he became President. He has ordered several agencies to simply shut down all projects that were underway. I doubt he even knows what an asian carp it or even where the Great Lakes are located.
Trump is an idiot in charge of a nation. That makes him very dangerous, indeed.

(3,847 posts)then he'll see what state blows up first.
If this fucker and his booger eating moron cabal shared a brain, they would see it brings jobs to the area. It also will create an infrastructure to say the enviroment and food chain. Who ever stopped this program is truly a drooling idiot.

(146,307 posts)He has simply ordered everything to come to a halt. Some things will never be restarted, I'm sure.

(2,434 posts)There's already a house on the property, but I don't go in to see if I like it. I just tear it down so I can put up my own, later, or not. I might get distracted and end up using the lot to park my trailer. Screw my neighbors.

Do they really want to kill us all?
Trump and company do not or will not understand some of the most
basic science. Such as why we need to protect our native pollinators.
1 out of 3 bites of food we put into our mouths comes from pollination.

(146,307 posts)the asian carp. This is part of Trump's plan to simply shut everything down that is underway. Much of it will never be restarted as he guts Executive agencies and departments.
This particular program is just one of those things. Trump doesn't know anything about any of it. He just wants it all stopped.

This has Bannon's decontructionist ideology written all over it. Trump may have signed something, but I'd wager a guess that he is entirely clueless about the content. This is more "burn it down" bullshit from the Chief White House Anarchist.

I fear it is too late to stop these carp, though. I suspect they're already in the lakes.
