VERDICT IS IN at Fox & Friends! NO PERJURY, just a "tortured, circuitous, long, crazy question"

“Al Franken had a tortured, circuitous question,” said Brian Kilmeade.

“It was a very long question,” Steve Doocy agreed.

Kilmeade continued by saying that “there’s an excellent chance that [Sessions] didn’t even — because nothing happened significantly — he didn’t even remember about the Heritage Foundation incident or this ambassador came through.”

Doocy later reiterated, “Well, it was — to his credit, it was a crazy question, a very long question.”

“He certainly did not perjure himself,” Doocy said. “Everybody agrees on that. But nonetheless, the Democrats are saying, ‘OK, he’s got to recuse himself. Oh, he did that? All right. Now he’s got to resign.’ He is not going to resign over this.”

"How are you today?" is a very long, complicated question in his mind.

I saw the question and the answer. I also saw Sessions look quickly and guiltily at his attorney after lying. Feh!

He answered the question. He volunteered more information than was necessary. It was like a protestation. He meandered and rambled in his answer. The only person responsible for that is Jefferson Beauregard Sessions. He perjured himself.

Senator Franken:
But if true, it's obviously extremely serious and if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?

Senator Sessions:
Senator Franken, I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn't have - did not have communications with the Russians and I'm unable to comment on it.

There is no ambiguity in Franken's question. Sessions was an experienced US senator and college educated. If he has a problem understanding that question, his response does not convey any confusion or misunderstanding.

It's common for politicians to give answers that have little or no relation to questions - deliver those talking points, no matter what!

What baffled me about this exchange was that Sessions wasn't asked if he had contact with the Russian government; he then proceeds to not only make it clear that he should be considered a Trump campaign surrogate, he goes on to perjure himself regarding communications!

What I'm expecting next from the republicans is an explanation that it's not actually perjury because he wasn't actually asked directly about his own communications.......

I think he restated his answer because he thought he said "did have", which would have been a truthful answer. His look to his lawyer was to make sure he hadn't slipped up and said "did have." Complete asshat but not a very accomplished liar. He hasn't really had to be.

but the Attorney General of the United States should be capable of a higher level of cognition than that.

whether this was part of a prepared statement, a response to a question, or volunteered information (as in this case), it's all about the lie.

how on earth can any question, long, tortured, circuitous or whatever, turn a flagrantly false answer into anything other than a lie?

unless the "question" was "whatever the truth, just repeat after me..." or "give me an example of a lie", then all that matters is the lie.

And lawyers don't know how to answer long questions without lying.
Fox logic.
