There surely are transcripts of intercepted Russian to Russian conversations. More than that would probably involve warrants if they were intercepted in the U.S.

A transcript of a conversation between Ivan and Dimitri (just made up names) saying "The campaign wants...." is a lot different than a transcript of a call between Sessions or Flynn and Putin discussing strategy. I see this as a puzzle being slowly assembled and the missing pieces being supplied by lies known to be lies. I don't trust Comey but if he comes out of this as the next Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. that would be okay with me.

However, with FISA they can get a warrant. And they did.

They would not have gotten permission to listen to and save conversations unless there was solid evidence.

And it would have required going through several layers of "command" for this to happen. It's not like some rogue person can do this on a whim.

So there is some damning evidence being held.

We don't know which Americans it is though. Not yet.

Presumably Flynn was one. And perhaps Sessions.

Fri Mar 3, 2017, 08:12 PM
Mar 2017

I'm gonna call it 'Sessions-a-Lago' (my new suffix for all scandals) is such a big deal.

As AG, Sessions is over the FBI. If he participated in any kind of 'orders to the FBI' on this matter, they (the Trump administration) are all toast.

Even if the 'direction' that he gave the FBI seemed inert, it has cast a shadow on the entire investigation.

It's not gonna do any good to throw the FBI off track because the intelligence community has the information. That's how this congressman is so confident in its existence.

This is one of the reasons why Sessions should resign right away.

After all, it's been enough lately for Republicans to say they "believe" the protesters showing up at their town halls are paid outsiders. Sen. Coon's belief should be sufficient for the media to report this surmise as factual, right?

...snip...

“In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government -- a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity.

The public has a right to know this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public. There is no danger to American interests from releasing it. And yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information.”

The information about Trump is there, the problem is how to put it out to the public. Republican's need a way to save face yet see Trump go. Maybe that's one reason the information is being dribbled out slowly, let the public as whole gradually get used to the idea that Trump is indeed a crook. After the tipping point has been determined to be reached then Trump leaves and we move ahead, our Democracy has survived!

I think that may be part of what is going on behind the scenes. I also think many Democrats will be content with getting rid of Trump and will be willing to let other Republicans skate as part of the back room agreement. Besides, Republican's control the Congress. When Nixon was finally impeached he was then pardoned by President Gerald Ford for any crimes "he might have committed". We got rid of Nixon and the Republicans avoided a long drawn out public trial.

Pretty serious stuff. And if he was caught doing that what else would have surfaced had he been forced to face trial. Perhaps a few of Trump's underlings will take the rap like Nixon's did. They will get a few years in a country club prison and we will move on. I don't think it's right but it seems to be the way these things get handled. If I remember correctly Bill Clinton passed on going after the Iran/Contra gang and Obama chose not to go after Bush and Cheney for war crimes. Let's look forward, not backward seems to be the political motto.
