I'm typing as she is talking. Tune in if you are interested. On edit: it was 15 minutes in when I tuned in, in case you catch it on a rerun. She said the fact the Flynn story involved certain information, she explained that means there HAD to already be an ongoing FISA warrant, and also that also meant the fact the info is out means there is a leaker in very high places.

(47,209 posts)There would not be transcripts of a call w an American if there wasn't a warrant already. WOW!

(55,894 posts)the process involves a FISA warrant and about 3 levels of management signing off and okaying the listening in on an American and also the retaining of that information.

(29,557 posts)A call to the Kremlin reporting the ambassador's conversation that was intercepted, that sort of thing.
There is so much we don't know or can't trust.

(624 posts)vast, opulent real estate holdings, and I don't know what else. It was in Russian though. Not sure if that's the vid they meant, but that's what was on when I tuned in. If it's an hour long, I'm sure there was a lot of other stuff. Not sure how it tied into the whole story.

(47,209 posts)To show how filthy rich they are. (When they don't earn much and have always been civil servants)
I'm not sure if they let them put it on TV but they are for the campaign of the man running against Putin! What courage.

Of course, Dean didn't do that until he realized he was probably the one who was going to be thrown under the bus. It may take a while before any of Trump's minions figure they're the designated sacrifice.

(624 posts)Now she's getting into the Russian fertilizer guy and Wilbur Ross. Russian guy overpaid Trump for a mansion in Palm Beach.
And the Russian fertilizer king kept showing up in several cities at the same time as Trump right before the election.

(6,113 posts)A couple of months ago, it was reported (WaPo or NYT, I think) that FISA warrant had been issued shortly before the election. Two previous requests had been rejected by the FISA Court for being too broad and lacking sufficient evidence.
BTW Alittle-noticed law was changed back in December to make it easier for intelligence agencies to share information regarding US citizens. I have suspected all along that this was done specifically to help with this investigation.
I think that a lot of people are going down in this scandal including senior staff, Trump associates, and some members of Congress.
I am reminded of the WWII allegations regarding Coventry and Enigma. While those allegations are likely myth, great effort was taken to conceal the work at Bletchley.
joet67
(624 posts)makes sense, but wouldn't that mean some people who might be ensnared had to vote for it? Just thinking out loud.

(9,865 posts)Suppose there is a leaker---but outing that idea on public media doesn't make him/her more likely to continue and it increases the draconian privacy crack-down the WH is already imposing on staff.
Her being "brilliant" is not really worth the attention this will garner. It's not that Bannon hasn't figured out this is the case--it's that now there's public perception that there's a leaker. Bannon will not tolerate that.
I wish she hadn't gone there.
