I'm just terribly afraid of dogs that are not introduced to me. Also, not every owner of a dog is able or willing to educate their pet to act properly. And a friend of mine is so allergic that she might get a critical condition if she touched a dog. You really should acknowledge that there are other reasons to shy away from dogs than just a bad character.
