They are the ones who believe that they are genuinely better than the rest of us. They don't see their hypocrisy because they honestly don't believe that they are hypocritical. They have been doing pretty damned good economically, whether through hard work, good luck, help from family/friends or all of the above, & it's just another reason they are convinced they are better than the rest of us. They will also be some of the last to feel the effects of a GOP government. Which, again, just fuels their superiority. A lot of them are also downright gleeful that the people they look down on are about to suffer. I hate to say that I have some of these in my family.

Portland, Oregon yesterday. I was swapping stories about time in service with one. I normally avoid talking about my time in a Special Forces unit to stay in character as a woman to avoid having to explain that I am a transgender woman. In his case I decided not to.

He raised the point that woman can't be in a unit like that doing that job. I told him woman now can, and watched his look of panic and disgust when I told him transgendered people like me had to hide then and don't have to now.

He snarled that the Donald will fix that eventually. I assured him not to 'worry,' as we will remove his fascist ass much sooner than Germany did when they had Trump's role model in power in the first half of the 20th Century. He should of left his fascist wear home. Portland is not exactly a Trump dump full of idiots like him.

My first enlistment was as a 67N, a UH-1H mechanic in the 82nd Airborne Division. It was the 1970s when the Armed Forces enforced mandatory oppression and they eventually made a go at me as they detected that I might not be exactly a heterosexual male. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice a commander can be the Judge, Jury and Executioner under the auspices of Article Fifteen. Many just take them rather than notch it up to a Special Court Martial where due process, the rules of evidence and a jury help even the odds of getting justice instead of a trip to a federal prison.

I chose the Special Court Martial. It was a horrible, stressful ordeal, but the charges that I had executed an improper hand salute at an end of month awards unit formation were dismissed on the grounds the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case in that I had indeed executed a proper hand salute before and after the lawful order as per the testimony of the First Sergeant. I went to and entirely different battalion because the Colonel of 1/17th Airborne (Air) Cavalry had made a proposal to me to notch it back to his article fifteen instead of a court martial. I made Sergeant E-5 from Private E-1 at entry and became a crew chief before I ETSed and left. I take the trouble to recount this as it's important for people to know and use the fact that when you have your ducks in order and you are willing to engage in a scrap with clowns like Trump you can and should win.

It is not going to be a fun time dealing with this intensely ridiculous clown in the White House and the Republican F Troop the House of Representative Repugs represent, but we can and will win. And what is being fought for by fighting then is worth fighting for.
