A DOJ spokesperson said today that Attorney General Jeff Sessions will answer senators questions and submit amended testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday:

This came in response to a letter sent by all 9 Democrats on the committee that reads the following:
The Attorney Generals recusal announcement is a welcome first step, but it leaves many significant questions unanswered.
The Attorney Generals responses to our questions during his confirmation process were, at best, incomplete and misleading. Unfortunately, he has not explained why he failed to come forward and correct the record before reports of his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak became public, why there was a delay in recusing himself until those public disclosures, and why he only recused himself with respect to campaign-related investigations and not Russian contacts with the Trump transition team and administration. Given the seriousness of this matter, we do not believe that a written submission to correct the record is sufficient.

(68,556 posts)It may very well be the case that there is a recording of Sessions and the Russian ambassador...Also, there were colleagues in the room who don't know what the authorities know about the conversation...are they going to risk being convicted of perjury for Session? I don't know...this could trap him.
