It Will Still Be A National Disaster If Trump Goes Down. We Will Still Have Pence.

It has been a national disaster that Trump was selected in the first place. The election was stolen with the help of the MSM, Comey, the GOP leadership, the RNC et al. Election fraud was the key because the election was still close enough to steal.

The country looks like a nation of boobs even though Hillary still won the popular vote and only 25% actually voted for Trump. Trump embarrasses us every day and undercuts us internationally. We have lost so much respect globally it will now take years to repair.

To me it's mostly a cover up to get away with stuff just like the pro-lifers are really a cover for white nationalist. They always talk a lot more about money than Jesus and are always willing to do the bidding of their masters, no matter who suffers.Just a bunch of sock puppets hiding behind an old book they have probably never read. At least his home state was lucky and got rid of him and was able to fix some of the damage he did. But really, getting rid of Trump won't matter unless we can get the House back. That has to be the goal. With this bunch of scum holding all the Aces we are screwed. I don't think this stupid ass could manage a lemonade stand and some people would buy the "religion" cover, but as long as Mitch an company are running the show we will be in trouble. All Obama could do after 2010 was limit the damage.

He has been" auditioning" with many trips to DC and donor meet and greets, plus somehow scammed his way into getting something published in the Times Opinion page.

Won't link to it on purpose.

While we in Wisconsin will be glad to see him out of the state, we would be horrified to inflict him on our already beleaguered nation.

unable to form a working government . . .They are divided already. Their leaders, McConnell, Ryan will be unable to govern. Worst case scenario Pence will be President and the Freedom caucus will become the center of the party.

If there is a consensus for impeachment for Trump, the Democrats might have a chance gain some power over the Republicans by letting Trump resign instead of impeachment.

and the Senate votes to convict and remove...

That's the end of the republican party. The core Trump voters who watch nothing but Fox and listen to Alex Jones and Brietbarf will never ever forgive them. They lose 20 to 25 percent of faithful republican voters... and will lose every election except in the reddest of red states for the next 20 years

Yes it would still suck, but not as badly as having Chump as President.

Pence would just be holding the position for the next Democrat to come along and beat a badly weakened Republican nominee (probably Pence himself) in 2020.

Unless if the GOP finds some integrity and acknowledges Hillary is the rightful owner of the presidency, then has her sworn in through a constitutional mechanism (like Pence resigning, then Trump naming her VP and then resigning), we have no "good" options. That said, Trump's impeachment will be good for us in that it will put a stain on the GOP they won't be able to wash off for decades.

because our nation's values, reputation in the world, and people's trust in our gov's integrity has been damaged. Not damaged beyond repair. The whole Republican party has willingly crawled into the disgusting, filthy slime of corruption with Trump. It will take a long long time and a great great Herculean effort to repair and purify this stink - if at all. Just as it took many decades to repair the nation after the civil war, and even that was not done perfectly.

The resistance will continue, and hopefully our young people will get practice in civic engagement and responsibility for creating, defending, and maintaining good government. Never forget. Nothing lasts forever. All empires eventually decline and fall. Maybe we are seeing the beginning of the end for the USA?
