One Positive Thing About Trump - He's Engaged Americans In Politics And To Paying Attention......

Since election night when it was confirmed that Trump would be the 45th president of the U.S. one thing Trump has done that is a positive is that he's engaged Americans to pay attention to politics.

People that never had interest in politics or political news shows or even voting in an election are all now transfixed.

It's America Held Hostage Day 45 and I'm seeing and talking to all kinds of people that never took an interest in politics now weighing on every bit of news related to what's going on in our country and for that matter - the world. They are frightened because they've never heard the kind of this discourse that is going on right before their eyes - before Trump. They just coasted along knowing that things in government just seem to go on behind the scenes and they just are self-absorbed in their own lives and neither the twain shall meet.

This all changed on election night. They started paying attention because what they thought would happen didn't and the rug was pulled out from under them. The person that was supposed to win - didn't. And the person that they thought was just a joke - did.

Well in this first 45 days of Trumps presidency - they have learned that it's no joke. As such, I see people that never took an interest or talked politics - now talking an interest and talking politics. They are watching the Sunday Shows. They are becoming familiar with political figures in both Party's. They are actually forming opinions of these political figures and how these politicians impact on their lives. They are now seeing vivid differences between the Dems and the Repugs.

We saw it with the massive march in D.C. the day after inauguration. We see it in the spur of the moment rallies that crop up when Trump signs E.O.'s like the Muslim ban. We see it in the crowds flocking to Town Hall meetings voicing their opinions and telling their Senators and Representatives to "Do Their Job".

We have Trump to thank for this and this is positive. This new interest in politics and how it impacts on their day-to-day lives has awakened a sleeping giant that will have a great impact on future elections.

People now have learned the power of their voice and their vote.

We need to keep this new found voice up to a fever pitch so that it translates into taking back the Senate and the House in 2018.

That is our mission now because it's the only way that we'll be able to contain Trump.

Fortunately - Trump himself has and is contributing to his own demise and the demise of the Repug Party.

It's time for the American People to now "Do Their Job".

Thanks to his election...the Gop will poison our water, imprison women and children undocumented in for profit prisons and use them as slave labor, sell out our country to the Russians, destroy health care, give bigger tax cuts, destroy jobs, destroy food stamps and all entitilemet programs including medicaid...and of course the big prize is the destruction of social security and medicare...those who voted for anyone but Hillary or didn't vote...have blood on their hands.

"Macbeth still stands and stares. He asks himself if all the water in the world can wash away the blood: "Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand?"

This Shakespearean quote is very apt for this situation...all the water in the world can not cleanse the blood from the hands of those who voted for Trump or enabled his election by voting third party, for a gorilla, for a libertarian or for the green traitor Jil Stein...Russian puppets all of them.

There is not silver lining or anything positive about Trump's so called victory.

I get the point you're trying to make, I just think there's a big difference

People seemed pretty 'engaged' when Obama was running

On the right, we have the Trumpers who believe that somehow, the life long con man will start telling the truth and that his silly slogans will somehow become actual solutions.

On the left, we have some who voted for a Green dilettante who appears every 4 years like a species of locust to claim to be running for President.
