So How Is That Trumpy Thingy Working Out?
We’re only a matter of weeks into the Trump disaster, and he and his administration are already so deep in shit, they can barely keep their heads above the poop.
Elected GOP reps are having to dodge protestors, not only at their offices, but at their homes. Many have shut down their phone lines, email access, and fax machines due to the barrage of nasty messages from angry constituents. Some refuse to attend town hall meetings, citing fear for their personal safety if they attempt to interact with furious voters.
The powers-that-be in the Republican party spend most of their waking hours issuing statements to excuse, explain, or reason away their pResident’s erratic behaviour, barely having enough time to catch their breath between his inane Tweets, all of which require yet another round of excuse-making and feeble explanations.
As Trump’s approval numbers continue to plummet, GOPers are forced to put on a happy face and pretend that their naked emperor has the best wardrobe evah!, that his vague assertions as to what he promises to do are grounded in some actual detailed plans, and that his paranoia-driven accusations against everyone – from Nordstrom’s to the intelligence community to President Obama – are not the ravings of a madman they increasingly demonstrate themselves to be.
At this point, one can only surmise that the Republican spokes-mouths who appear on TV news and political shows are those who drew the short-straw, or did something so egregious as to deserve the punishment of being pushed into the arena to be publicly humiliated.
And all of the above embarrassments are not limited to domestic fare. Trump continues to be pilloried on the global stage, triggering outrage among our international neighbours, and inviting the most scathing commentary any US president has ever been subjected to since the birth of our nation.
While the GOP desperately tries to prop-up their Idiot-in-Chief as an intelligent heroic figure, the nation – and the world at large – is witnessing the melt-down of a beyond stupid, morally bankrupt jerk-off who spews utter nonsense based on “facts” pulled from his own ass.
Despite every effort by the Republican PTB to minimize the fallout from Trump’s obvious and easily-debunked lies, his apparent lunacy, and the ever-growing evidence of his collusion with Russian operatives, the truth is outing itself on a daily basis – nay, an hourly basis – and is as undeniable as it is blatantly apparent.
So how is that Trumpy Thingy working out for the GOP? To say it’s not working out well would be the understatement of the century. And let’s remember that we are only six weeks into a pResidency that is already so mired in shit, its chances of survival are already ranked as somewhere between zero and nil.
