On Monday, a group called Ramsay Talks canceled its Tuesday event in Toronto, because the event's featured speaker, Khizr Khan, would not be able to attend. Khan, the Gold Star father famous for challenging Donald Trump in an appearance at the Democratic National Convention last year, had reportedly been told that his travel privileges are being reviewed. Khan has been an American citizen for more than 30 years.

My old man didn't get blinded in one eye and contact malaria in the Battle of North Africa in WW ll so some orange hued draft dodger could one day become president and pull this Hitler shit. I carry his wallet sized Honorable Discharge in my wallet. He must be turning around in his grave.

(1,129 posts)There will be no allied forces willing to lift a finger -- much less lose an eye & contract malaria -- in order to put a stop to The Orange Reich....
So we are clearly on our own to eliminate this regime - by any means necessary.

(14,858 posts)Maybe his administration didn't target Khan specifically, but I wouldn't put it past them given Trump's past behavior.

(22,196 posts)If they are going to start implementing this idiocy against U.S. citizens, then no one is safe. This particular one sounds like it came straight from Rump.

(5,730 posts)I think the ACLU and others hsve probably talked with him about being a Plaintiff. If the same lawyers who advised Sessions to get the hell out, or any other competent lawyers advice DT admin, they will leave Kahn alone. If they bother him, he is the best plaintiff. For us, a win/win. For them, a lose/lose. Go Khan!

(10,303 posts)... for an upgrade. But that would be personal opinion, plus Amex has a team that works with prominent people like Mr. Khan.
Usually meaning able to get into airport lounges, free pass to get through the TSA line easier, etc.
I too am confused about 'travel privileges'. We are not the DPRK needing a pass to leave the village, or the Soviet Union requiring an exit visa.

I'd sure like to follow the paper trail back to the source of THAT decision.
